I'm thinking of having this done on my chin. Currently, I get my chin and upper lip waxed every 4 weeks, but I have to let the hair grow for 2 weeks before it's done and I can't stand it. I've heard everything from it hurts like hell to it doesn't hurt at all and I've also heard that it can leave scars. My chin is already one big scar (I had my chin stitched up on 7 separate occasions when I was a kid) and I don't want to make it any worse. Also, I'm a huge baby; I can barely stand the waxing. So, I wondering just how painful is it and does it really work?

My new haircut is pretty close to hers, but definitely not pink. I was going to order a wig, there is a very cute one it is perfect, but have recently had thoughts of buying the spray in haircolor in a pink color. Does anyone think this is a good idea? BTW I just had my hair colored a lovely shade of red.
There's a zillion! It's interesting how what one person loves, another person hates. It makes me wonder how valuable other people's opinions are for make-up items if the responses can be so extreme. Maybe that's because our preferences are tied in to the specifics about ourselves so they don't necessarily match other people's?

"MUA Swap" is a little weird, in my book. It's a page where you post about a make-up product you'd like to trade with someone for something else. I think people expect new or lightly used items. Some people talk about cleaning their lightly used products (whatever that means) but the concept still bothers me.

Anyone else ever use this website? Some of the issues we've been talking about recently on this forum are addressed such as:
•	Do anti-aging products work and what key ingredients and percentages should you look for
•	How often should you exfoliate
•	Recommendations for do-it-yourself skin care products

The author(s) may know what they’re talking about since a lot of the info that I read seems to agree with what we’ve all learned from the Beauty Brains. There are also short summaries of skin care research studies for various topics that you can click on and read. I thought they were interesting and some of them answered my own questions. There's also a forum for different topics.

I was less enthusiastic about their “Quick Tips”, “Product Reviews” (although interesting) and “Provider Reviews” since users of the site wrote them.
I use Relastin Eye Silk. I love the product. It goes on nice and smooth, you can use it under makeup and your makeup won't slide down your face, and -- dare I say it?-- my undereye bags are much less noticeable. I know there are people who hate the stuff (the reviews on MUA are almost all bad) but it works for me so I'm willing to fork over the $69 + shipping and handling and order it on-line. I try very hard to use products that I can walk into a store and buy but I'm willing to put this on my credit card and wait a week for it to show up. but....

What's with the crappy dispenser? I'm sure a great deal of R&D went into designing the God-awful pump dispenser it comes in. Can't they just put it in a tube? My father tells me that, whatever type of dispenser it is, the consumer has to be able to get the labeled amount out of it using the officially sactioned method. If it's a pump and it says 1 oz, you have to be able to pump 1 oz out. If it's a tube and it says 3.5 oz, you have to be able to squeeze 3.5 oz out without giving yourself a hernia. This usually means putting more than the stated amount in the container and maybe this frosts their (the fine people at Relastin) bananas and they've come up with a way to guarantee that I can't can't get more than 0.5 oz out. I know I'm not the only one cutting open tubes and removing the screw-on pump thingey to scrape out that last little bit of product but is this really necessary? I know people who will only buy Smashbox primer in the small travel-size tubes because they hate the pump dispenser so much. Why? Why do they do this to us? Why do they hate us?

So now I have to order more Relastin and wait a week for it to show up because I think, but am not actually sure, that I'm out. In the mean time, I'll pump the dispenser about 200 times because maybe I'm not out.... mayber there's an air bubble in there between me and another month's worth of product. Why can't they just put this stuff in a tube?

End rant.

We've all been talking about great mascaras and it got me thinking about a salon in my area that is advertising eyelash extensions. I did a Google search to find out more. The cost and upkeep is really high; I don't like the make-up limitations that go with it, and I saw a scary article online about problems with formaldehyde in a batch of the adhesive used here in the US.
Don't make the mistake I did a few months ago by buying Neutrogena's Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Anti-Blemish Clear Skin Cream. The hype on the front of the box calls your attention to the fact that it has Retinol in it but they don't tell you how MUCH Retinol is in this product, either on the box or on the tube. Today, I called their toll-free number that's specifically for product questions to ask them and can you believe they wouldn't give me the answer? I was told by their customer service representative that the percentage of Retinol in the product "could not be disclosed". When I asked why, she said that it would give their competitors "an unfair advantage" to reveal that information.

This is so ridiculous. If you go to dermstore.com or dermadoctor.com to buy Retinol products from various manufacturers, the percentage of retinol is clearly specified in the product's description and it's also given on the product's ingredient list. Sometimes the percentage of Retinol is even part of the product's name.

I went to Amazon a little while ago and wrote up a scathing little review of this Neutrogena product, in frustration.

We here at the Beauty Brains are new at this Forum stuff but we want to continue to improve it. In this thread we will announce additions and tips on making use of the forum easier. If you have figured out any tricks you don't see listed, feel free to let everyone else know.

1. How to Start a Discussion. Look to your left. There is a rectangular button that says "start a new discussion". Just click it and start typing. You'll want to select the appropriate category for the discussion and come up with a pithy title. Come up with a title that will make people want to read what you've written.

2. How to setup your profile. Click on the "Account" button at the top navigation bar (it's the one just under "The Beauty Brains" at the top left). On the left side, click on "Personal Information". Then fill in the boxes to make any changes you'd like. And if you'd like to let everyone know where you're located, click on "Manage Map Location". Use this Latitude and Longitude website to determine your location.

And if either the Left Brain or the Right Brain reads this, don't you think that one of you should own a pair even if you only wear one? Better yet, you could buy one set and split them!
