So i'm having a hair problem.
I bought a curling iron to curl my hair but it doesnt curl my hair whatsoever. I dont know why. Ive tried everything, but to no avail. I used curling product that also stiffens the hair and tried it wet and dry.
Its called the Remington CI550 Curls Curls Curls.
Its a titanium ceramic curler and it heats up to 180 max.

I'm not sure what kind of hair I have. but its long straight, medium brown and caucasian straight, not heavy Asian straight if you know what I mean.
So i really dont know why its so hard to curl.
I tried the michelle phan/vintage socks and paper approach too, and that didn't work either. wet, dry with a hair dryer and with product.

Can someone recommend something that will definitely curl my hair, that isn't too expensive. I was thinking of heat rollers?
When i plait my hair it does come out wavy.
Does anyone know of a website that sells -excellent- heat rollers, ships overseas?

Hi everyone :)

I have weird hair and don't really know what to do with it. It's genetic blegh :P I have fine hair for the most part; some of my hair, (in back and near the nape of my neck) is really limp, smooth, and shiny, I always have to get it cut shorter than everything else because it will not curl no matter what I do to it. The hair around and above my ears on either side is really curly (fairly tight curls) and fluffy when I brush it, but looks healthy enough. The hair on the top and at the front of my head is my biggest problem, it's wiry, but not curly or wavy. It isn't even straight, it just sticks around in random, stupid-looking pieces that won't brush together and calm down. This is driving me insane. Any help would be vastly appreciated :)

Sorry if this topic has been discussed before in the forum, I couldn't find any discussions about it after joining this afternoon and I had a few questions above and beyond what was mentioned in the blog. I've been reading a lot of positive stories online from people who have stopped using shampoo, and am wondering if I should try it. The people who seem to have the most positive experiences doing this have curly, dry, or frizzy hair, none of which are true for me. However, some people also counterintuitively say that this technique also benefits greasy hair. The claim is that when too much of your natural oil is cleaned off, your sebaceous glands detect that there is not enough and will overproduce oil to compensate. Therefore, if you stop cleaning the oil from your hair, your glands will eventually stop this overproduction and your hair will stop being greasy. Is there any truth to this? Unlike the rest of the internet, I trust this website to give me the straight facts!

I trained at a hair extension academy, and have been practising on myself and my friends. However I have noticed that on some people, but not others, keratin tipped extensions seem to come out, pulling the hair with it. The bond is fully attached when it comes out, it just has pieces of hair with it! Some pieces appear broken, and others appear with the "bulb" attached. How does this happen? Is it the hair breaking then pulling out the rest? or is shedding hair causing the rest of the hair to break? is it fine or damaged hair? or too big or too small sections of hair?
I have a shampoo that uses Olefin Sulfonate as a cleansing ingredient. It claims to be mild, but I read on some hair care sites that Sodium C14-18 Olefin Sulfonate is just as irritating/drying as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. Is plain old Olefin Sulfonate the same as these other forms I've read about such as Sodium C14-18 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium Alpha Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium C12-14 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium C16-18 Olefin Sulfonate, and Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate? This product doesn't seem to be very drying to me, but I was curious as to whether there was a difference between the ingredient listed on my product and these other similar sounding ingredients.

Also, if it is a mild cleanser, is it sufficient to remove silicone buildup? Are other SLS alternatives like Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate & Cocamidopropyl Betaine milder, and if so, are they sufficient to remove silicone buildup?
Thanks!
