Hi All,

Had to share this one. For years I have wore false eyelashes and loved them. Every two week I faithfully got them did. I didn't notice at first but, eventually I was losing thickness because of the constant stress of the glue and the pulling and tugging. I wanted to grow them back but, I looked awkward without them. People would tell me that it was something different about me somedays but, they couldn't put their finger on it. I knew what it was. I wore them not wanting to until I heard about Careprost. I started off using Careprost with the eyelash strips but wanted to see the full effect of the product. Even though I was using the product with the strips, the strips was interfering with my progress. So bye-bye strips. My lashes showed noticeable progress after the 4th week. I think its cool to be able to grow your own lashes the length of false eyelashes. Since use, I have noticed no Iris change like the Latisse commercials say but, my top eyelids at first were itchy. This is a must have product hands down. Now my eyelashes are movie star long and I would trade them for anything. Checkout the Fanpage and Careprost Blog
:x

I'm in the process of trying to find the perfect tinted moisturizer, foundation or combo of the above with a matching or complementary finishing powder.

My skin is a puzzle. Makeup artists have variously told me I'm clearly yellow or clearly pink/porcelain. Here is what I know without a doubt: my eye color is cool (blue-green rather than hazel green), I undeniably look best with cool toned lip color, blush, and clothing. When I get highlights done on my brown hair, they are flattering if neutral rather than warm. I can wear either silver or gold jewelry, but silver complements me better. Although I look best in cool tones, I can wear olive green, light ivory (beige not so great on me), and cool browns. Orange, red and yellow in clothing is very unflattering on me.

The part I'm less confident about is characterizing my actual skin tone: I would describe my skin tone as very pale olive green-brown or plain neutral brown (with areas of yellow discoloration from melasma and red discoloration from rosacea). I can see some yellow in my skin, but it is subtle, and I tend to think neutral brown describes it better. Underside of my wrist veins are blue. I take a tan well, and sunburn only mildly, but the color I tan is bronze, not gold. Because I wear sunscreen, I can wear the lightest shades of most tinted mositurizers currently, and among the lightest 3 foundation shades depending on how many shades there are.

So I'm kind of puzzled with my undertone. I am often told that I should wear a yellow toned foundation/powder, but they always look bad to me; they make me look sallow and seem to clash with my eye color, etc. Does this suggest that I am neutral/cool or just that I don't like my true undertone? I was recently matched with a faintly yellow finishing powder (I adore this powder, btw, it's very uniquely soft and luminous, so I want to make some shade of this brand work). I combine it with a tinted moisturizer that also leans a bit warm. I decided recently to order the same brand of powder in the pink, and I really like the look of it on me (used with the very slightly warm toned tinted moisturizer). I can see that it is faintly more ashy than my neck, but I can correct somewhat with bronzer, and the overall look makes my face glow and complements my eye and hair color well.

Any thoughts about what undertone I am, and do other people have similar struggles? Also--if you're truly neutral, which is closer to neutral in foundation, peach/pink or yellow?

Wow. It's 12:30 on Christmas morning and I just finished wrapping presents from Santa. I'm beat. There's nothing else to do except - Ask a question on the Beauty Brains Forum!

I wear mascara every day, because my lashes are so fair, thin, and short. I have tried lots of mascaras, both regular and waterproof, and all rated highly by Beautypedia and Makeup Alley. They all end up smudged under my eyes. The waterproof ones last longer until they smudge but they eventually do. My lashes aren't getting wet.

I am hoping Santa brings me my HG mascara, but just in case he doesn't, can anyone explain why this might be happening and how to work around it?

Since I've been trying to get pregnant over the last year, I've become more concerned about toxicity. I probably eat a sizeable amount of lipstick. I am not your usual "organic" type, but I was surprised to see the list of ingredients for my favorite lipstick, Avon's Beyond Color Plumping with Double the Retinol. (Sienna) I probably don't need the retinol at this point, but I don't understand the rest of the ingredients. I'm considering a switch to Covergirl Lip Perfection, but is it any better?

Are organic lipsticks worth the hype?? I've seen that Bare Minerals has a natural lipstick, but I'm not feeling $25 per tube. I'm more of a drugstore type girl. I'm not loaded with money and don't want to be more paranoid than I should be--

I would greatly appreciate any guidance!

Thank you.

I LOVED the Almay Intense I-Color Eyeliner in Amethyst (purple) but then I became allergic to this eyeliner. I tried other purple eyeliners and had the same reaction... extremely red, teary eyes. I know now that the culprit is carmine.

However, purple eyeliner looks soooo good with my dark brown eyes and I have been on the hunt for a purple eyeliner that doesn't have carmine, but let me tell you it is RARE! I went through all the purple eyeliners at Sephora and in drugstores and found one gel eyeliner that doesn't contain carmine (the brand is Tarte) but it was too dark and looks more like black on me.

I'm looking for a gel eyeliner as opposed to a pencil eyeliner because I have very oily skin and gel eyeliners stay on better.

Can anyone help a girl out? Do you know of a carmine-free purple gel eyeliner???? Please spill!! I will be soooo grateful!!

Thank youuuu!

I have sensitive, dry, reactive, skin with a few small, fine, life-lines. (wink) I'm going in the direction of silicone foundation and primers for those reasons. However, if I need a harsh cleanser to remove them...all bets are off! I currently use CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser. That won't cut the mustard. The foundation I'm looking at offers dimethicone as the 2nd ingredient if that helps!?

Hello! I'm going into the 7th grade this year, and I really want to start wearing make-up. My mom helped me pick out some really pretty blue eyeliner, because my eye color is blue. But I wanted to know if anyone knew some really good make-up brands with eyeliner that are good. I don't care for the dark kind of eyeliner. Just the light stuff. Anyone have any ideas for me?

I am 50 and have used Lancome mascara for about 20 years without complication. 5 yrs ago, I switched to Arbonne and had no issues until about a year ago. I started getting a pimple like thing in my lower lashes every now and then. This morphed into an occasional stye type sore near the corner of my eye in my upper lashes. Now, my eye(s) will turn red and bother me plus the lash area is itchy and sore. Over the past 6+ months, I have gone back to Lancome, back to new Arbonne, and even tried Maybelline out of desperation to find something which would work. The only thing that helps is going without mascara over the weekend or longer. Is there any product out there which is truly hypo-allergenic? It isn't a pretty sight without mascara.. Are these symptoms consistent with an allergic reaction to mascara? Thank you to anyone who can help!
