Curious if anyone has every heard of this product. It claims that is is a breathable skin barrier product that makes whatever product you use underneath it (it is only used at night) more effective. Is this another gimmick? (The website is nucerity dot com)
Gimmick.
The ingredients that I could find are as follows...
Acetone, Flouropolymer, Acrylic polymer, Tocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E), Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Seed Oil, Fragrance.
Acetone!? Not really an ingredient I'd want to put on my skin. It is highly flammable for one and known to dry skin. http://www.cdc.gov/niosh/ipcsneng/neng0087.html But it evaporates rather quickly so it might not cause too many problems.
The Flouropolymer and Acrylic polymer are the film formers. These will work about the same as coating your skin with hair spray.
There is no published data that demonstrates using an acrylic polymer/flouropolymer coating makes skin products more effective. Color me skeptical on this one.
Especially at $89 for a monthly sample!
