Your Credentials

    Hi there, I love reading your blog, and I suppose you've taught me a thing or two about being sceptical of info presented to me on a daily basis. I understand that you must remain anonymous(I guess....?), but how do I know you guys are actually cosmetic scientists/chemists etc., that you are independent and that I can trust what you do say? Would you guys be willing to gives your credentials or at least your education? The tough thing with anonymity is that you could be pretending to be anyone, and that hoards of average cosmetics users trying to to educate themselves could be getting a biased perspective from a seemingly trustworthy source.

    It's doubtful that all of the Beauty Brains will ever be revealed, but when our next book comes out (early to mid next year) we'll reveal the identity of at least one of the Beauty Brains.  Our new publisher thinks it will be helpful and this BB is no longer tied to any particular company.
    But rest assured, the main Brains are all card carrying members of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists, have degrees in chemistry (and Biochemistry) and have worked as cosmetic formulators.

    I'm also intrigued. If you're part of the SCC are you guys american? or do you mean the SCS?

    I dont see the problem tbh with a certain amount of transparency. I can say that, since i've left university with a BSc in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, I've been in the industry for 4 years and have worked in various departments such as environmental/regulatory, Quality Control and Analysis, Flavours and Fragrance, and Product Performance and Formulations. I've worked on various projects in the personal, household and fine fragrance departments. And most importantly, I'm still learning and enjoying every moment of working in this industry.

    Now that I think was a nice little bio of my credentials without sounding too pompous or giving away personal or corporate details. I think a lot of people would like to see from the Brains and I think that's what Neuterus was looking for and you can still keep your alter egos.

    i think its fine to be anonymous and its been fun communicating with 'the brains' personalities. Your qualifications and knowledge of the cosmetic industry are evident. I did see where you mentioned that you are no longer tied to a particular company, but are the other main brains affiliated with companies?
