Best ingredients to treat hyperpigmentation and redness
  • 6 weeks ago I completed my 5 month treatment on accutane. I haven't had breakouts in 2 months!
Though I don't have acne anymore, I still have a lot of hyperpigmentation and redness from the acne I used to have. I have been using a specific skin care regimen religiously since I ended my treatment...and some of the redness and hyperpigmentation has faded away, but I still have a lot.
Here's is what I use. Let me know if you know of any products that really helped you in this area. I also have heard vitamin c serum is great .
    Morning:
    Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser
Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum (contains NIACINAMIDE)
Nia 24 Sum Damage Prevention SPF 30 (contains 5% NIACIN)

    Night:
    Neutrogena Fresh Foaming Cleanser
Neutrogena Healthy Skin Anti-Wrinkle Cream (contains RETINOL)
Olay Regenerist Daily Regenerating Serum (contains NIACINAMIDE)

    Thanks!
  • I also would like some answers to this question. I have the same red marks and hyperpigmentation. My 13 year old daughter finally got her acne under control with Differin, but still has very obvious red marks. Like mine, hers will probably take about 2  years to fade away on their own. We don't want to wait that long.
I have read somewhere that Niaminimide (or was it niaminicide) has been found to speed up this fading, but I haven't tried a product that contains it.

  • Hi, although I've read that creams with oxygen is nothing more than just a bluff, I must say that those marks disappeared when I used Karin Herzog oxygen cream...
I had the same problem, just my skin looked dirty and spotty as there were marks/scars where the spots were, especially on my cheeks. It got all clean and clear :)

I have also heard that manuka oil works well in clearing your face of spot scarring (colour wise).
