Staining hair with pure cranberry juice?
I've read that you can stain your hair (lasting 1-2 washes) using 100% pure unsweetened cranberry juice. I'm thinking of giving it a go but am concerned it might damage my hair a little, as pure cranberry juice is quite acidic (it has a ph of between 2.3 and 2.5 apparently) and therefore might have a drying effect?
I've seen a couple of different methods; the one that seems to make the most sense is to start with dry hair, then pour the (pre-warmed) juice onto it, then wrap your hair in plastic and let it soak for a couple of hours. But then would I shampoo the juice out or just rinse? Most methods say to use a leave in conditioner to finish. But some methods say to use a hair mask on top of the juice and then rinse both out.
What do you think would allow for maximum staining without causing damage?
