  • So I have been using 2 types of moisturizer and applying it on to my face every night before i sleep. And i don't find any problems using them, they hydrates my skin and i really trust the product.
But recently, i find my skin starts to get cracked and dry, and no matter how often i apply my moisturizer it just doesnt seem to improve.
Is it because my skin tolerates to the moisturizer?
  • I doubt it's the moisturizer, its likely whats going on inside your body. Everything from hormones to hydration affect your skin, and your skin's needs change over time. Weather is also a big factor to your skin- cold winter air, and indoor heated air is so dry, most people find they need a more intense moisturizer in the winter. Thirdly, it is possible that these products you've used for a long time could be re-formulated, and they are not working as well for you. Cosmetic companies can alter ingredients without the consumer knowing. I cannot recommend Korres 24 Hour Wild Rose Moisturizer (Sephora, Ulta) more highly. I struggled with moisturizers for YEARS- nothing seemed to tackle my skin, and the Korres works just as well in the summer as it does in the winter. If I could have but one beauty product, that Korres would be it. Its phenomenal.

    Good luck!
  • I too have found that my moisturizers recently are not as effective as they were. I think its due to the cold windy weather we have been experiencing. I plugged in a cool mist humidifier in my bedroom and turned it on at night. It seems be making a big difference-- my face doesn't feel tight or irritated and a regular moisturizer now works well.
