Run far away. Silicone, fragrance, petroleum derivatives. Please at least tell us what product is this?
  • Who says the product is worth that much? Just because that's the price they are charging, it doesn't mean it's WORTH that. Also doesn't mean the ingredients are driving that much of the cost.

In my opinion they would need to justify such a high price with a lot of well conducted studies showing that this product works much better than other similar products that have a much lower price.
  • The product is  EviDenS de Beaute -Extreme -The Serum.

Randy, they lay claim to all sorts of skincare magic including salmon belly fat.  I realize that the $ does not dictate quality.

What I want to know is:

    1.  What ingredients in this product are good for the skin.
    2.  What ingredients do you recognize as having benefit for the skin
    3.  What ingredients (if any) are harmful for skin

  • To be honest, you're asking the wrong questions. Your first and second questions really ask the same thing. And the answer is that many of these ingredients may provide some benefit.

A better question to ask is "do any of these ingredients (or combo of these ingredients) provide a benefit which can't be found using a much cheaper product."

As with most skin care products I don't see any overtly dangerous ingredients here.
  • Thank you Randy.   Just so I'm clear, are you suggesting that it's the ingredients only and not the formulation of the product that will make the difference?  In other words, I don't need to know how a product is formulated, I only need to know the ingredients to find a comparable product at a possibly lower cost. Is that correct?   I do understand from reading your articles that the first five ingredients are the place to start.
  • No, that's not exactly what I'm saying. I'm saying that I wouldn't spend so much money on a beauty product unless the company could provide proof that it works better than something that's cheaper.
  • @RandyS What you are saying is crystal clear.

I would not spend so much money either. The price is not correlated to the cost of manufacturing at all!!!
  • Thank you Randy, the problem always is: where do you find the proof?  What would you ask the company to provide as proof?  Here's what they have on their web site:

    Visible and Proven Efficiency

Effective results as soon as 15 days after the first treatment.
Complexion lightens up, features are rested, lines are erased.
Deeply, fibers are more densified, cells are energized and oxygenation is more efficient.
Skin is smooth, less wrinkly, more supple, younger and visibly bears less dark spots and scars.
    Visible and Proven Efficiency

To guarantee the absolute thoroughness of our methods and the very highest standards in terms of results, in-depth instrumental scientific measurements have been conducted on the products by an independent Clinical Expertise Laboratory (General FCG Institute in Tokyo). They were backed up by a strict examination method (detailed satisfaction surveys and skin examinations by dermatologists).
They confirm the real efficiency of the EviDenS de Beauté range after two weeks of use:

Like millions of Japanese women, you too, can trust us...

  • This is almost meaningless. The testing needs to be done against a meaningful control - in this case a similar product that is cheaper. No one is going to do this test unless they're sure their product will win.
  • Thank you Randy, I get it.
