How can I prevent and treat milia around my eyes?
  • I have those white bumps around my eyes, called milia. I had some removed by a professional, but some are too close to my eyes to be extracted. Is there a treatment/cream to prevent and or treat milia? Thanks.
  • I got rid of mine by stopping the use of eye creams. Rich creams make them grow. Once I stopped in a few days they were gone. They have water based eye gels that are awesome and don't make milia grow.
  • @ JamiSings

Thanks for your comment. I'll try the water based eye gels.
To be honest I don't use an eye cream. Is it possible that my moisturiser for face cause the milia to grow?
  • Could be if you're getting it on your eyes at all. I was told by the doctor that rich creamy stuff is what causes them to grow. Once I stopped using anything it was gone. And the water based eye gel I'm using is amazing. I don't know if it's connected at all, but for about a year now when I would wake up my eyes would be so dry it was like I slept with my eyes opened. I have to keep drops by my bed. One day recently it took over an hour and repeated application of drops before I could even keep my right eye open and the skin underneath was tender for two days. Since using this gel I've not had any dry eye issues or skin tenderness.
Could be a coincidence but a few times I forgot the gel I woke up the next morning with dry eyes.
  • What's the name of this eye gel, JamiSings? It sounds great.
  • If I'm reading the label right (she gave me a sample but I'm going to buy some) it's Erno Lazlo antiodent For Eyes.
Oh hey, Kitten, I was just thinking, I've seen these glasses that are special just for putting on eyemakeup, maybe you could use them to keep your moisturizer away from your eyes when you put it on.

That's a couple of different kinds. Or maybe some cheap things with just plain glass in them like you'd get for a Halloween costume.
  • The glasses are very handy . Normally I don't have dry eyes, but I will keep it in mind.thanks for the recommendations :)
  • You can go to an optomologist to get milia removed that's on or near your lash line. I had it done once. It was quick and left no mark. A dermatologist won't touch them if they are near your eyes.
