Most haircare products are formulated very similarly in my experience. What I've found works from the drugstore on my thick coarse long hair is l'oreal vive color care shampoo (I findi t the least drying whether or not im coloring) and I'm in love with the new aveeno volumizing care conditioner (it's very very conditioning and contains a high amount of behentrimonium methosulfate which I find my hair loves because any product I use that has a high amount of it has amazing effects with me). I find the conditioning intense but lightweight. So that would be my suggestion.
