Is Lanolin (sheepwol-fat) really a miracleworker?
  • I have been using a skincare product of a company that advertises with their use of lanoline. The Dutch company owns a sheepfarm and found out while handling wool how the fat from the sheepskins is really good for dry skin and other various skin problems so they made some products from scratch who are now becomming more wellknown. So the secret of all this is Lanoline. My question is; is this really a miracle worker and how well does it protect your skin?

Ive wrote down the ingredients from their daycreme. It was in Dutch so I hope I got it right in English.

Water, lanoline, shea butter, jojobaoil, cetearyl alcohol, glycerin glyceryl stearate, caprylyl glycol, sodium cetearyl sulphate, parfum, vitamine E, soja-oil, lecithine, ascorbyl palmitate, glyceryl oleate, aloe vera, citrus acid, caroteen olie sodium hyaluronate isopropyl palmitate allantoin, vitamine F, vitamine A, lactic acid, fruitzuren: malic acid, pyroglutamic acid, glucolic acid, pyruvic acid, tartaric acid.

    Kind Regards,

    Kirry
  • yes, lanolin really is great for dry skin. It moisturizes the top layer of the skin and seals it in so it's great if you don't produce enough of your own oil. The other 4 main ingredients in the cream (shea butter, jojoba oil, cetearyl alcohol and glycerin) are also really great hydrators. So yeah if this is working for you, I'm not surprised, it'sa great formula. But you don't have to order it from the Netherlands, there's lot's of brands available widely in north america that have amazing moisturizers for dry skin.
  • Thank you for your comment. :D
Also, im from the Netherlands so its easier for me to order here. Hihi. ^^
  • Yes it is good for dry skin definitely.

Also it might have wound healing properties, but I don't have any information about that? But pure lanolin seems to work on breasts that are wounding from breatfeeding.
  • Thanks for the reply Katjamo. :D
Ive also read about its healing properties and suggested to my boyfriend to try and use it for his auto-immune skin condition that doesnt benefit by hormone creams.
And this lanoline product seems to sooth his itch and calm down his skin and seeying results on my boyfriend's skin, does imply it does its job quite well. :D
