So I'm going on a shopping spree in Dubai in a few days...I read a lot about clarisonic, now the thing is I'm not comparing prices but I want to know what is the major advantage of it versus normal brushes. I'm 21 with a normal skin (but an oily T-bone sometimes) so I'm not sure whther I need something aggressive on my face.
So is it right for me? Is it worth the money? Why would anyone need it anyway??
And since I'm shopping, can you think of any items/makeup/skincare...any product that's a must-have that I should consider while I'm at it?
Thanks a bunch :)
I have one and having used it several times, my opinion is that it is a waste of money. It works no better than my old method of exfoliating which is what I got it for. I used to do a weekly scrub with olive oil and a sprinkle of salt. I had great results with that and I don't know what possessed me to make me think the Clarisonic would be better. I am going back to my tried and true method. Some people love it for acne however. One of the biggest complaints I've heard is that many people find the brush, even the gentle one, to be too rough so I would say you definitely don't need to get a rougher one. Honestly, you would do better to buy a gentle scrubbing cleanser and use it on a face cloth or if you can handle oil try the olive oil and a pinch of salt, followed by a warm rinse and a nice moisterizer- it just leaves the nicest soft, smooth skin. Those two methods give me better results than my Clarisonic. I just always have to outdo - or undo myself with beauty budget busters cuz I get snagged by the hype.
I have never used the Clarsonic but I can speak for the olive oil and salt. It works great. If you find that to be too drying for your face you can try olive oil mixed with either brown sugar or plain old white sugar. Not only does it make a good scrub for your face but it works wonders on the body skin too! Sometimes simpler is better.
