pedicures smearing in winter
  • Ican never figure out how to get a pedicure and go out later in the winter.
Are there some tricks like baggies before socks or something? Or anything
else - my feet get so cold in flip flops
    thanks,
    Randie
  • randiesu--A fellow formu member PurpleRules enlightened me to 2 products that both do basically the same thing. Dry nails QUICKLY.

    1. Poshe Super Fast Drying Top Coat
    2. Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat

I found them both at my local CVS pharmacy for around $7 or $8. I only have the Poshe. I was a bit skeptical at first, but when it came down to it...wow it was amazing. 3 times I have used it in a pinch (because I have a date with procrastination) and within 5 minutes I am able to do stuff like go to the bathroom.

I bet you could buy one of these top coats and take it with you next time you get a pedi and it won't take nearly as long to dry. There is a process to applying it, but I can't find the thread yet. I'll post it when I find it.

    no idea if it works..

i'm a flip flop gal, alllll year round..
  • You can buy toeless socks. You'll look very stylish when you wear them with your flip flops. Okay, you won't but your feet will be warmer and you won't smear your polish.
  • You guys are GREAT! I suggested that Randi post her question here and you all jumped right in with helpful suggestion. Thanks!
  • Randie,
The baggie trick is to put cuticle oil or cheat and use olive oil on the painted toes and put the baggies over the toes. Put your socks on over the baggies. Put on your shoes and you are good to go.
My very good friend Debbie B. from Quakertown PA was the person who was the first to announce this on another website so she gets the credit from YEARS ago for it. It works! I do this for all my winter pedi clients.

PS-- the quick dry top coats ONLY dry the top coat. The polish underneath is still wet. You can purchase a small fan from Wal-Mart for about $7 to dry them. NEVER use a quick dry top coat and cold air. It will wrinkle the top coat.
