Everyone has trouble with acene and such. So tell us your little secret to what you use for the following:
1. acene
2. Eyeliner
3. Eyeshadow
4. Dry Skin
5. Dry Scalp/Dandruff/Itchy Scalp
6. Hair care products ( Like shampoo conditioner)
If you don't use some of these things, then just say so. Like I don't use any Acene products so that's one thing I'm looking for to help me!!!
So thanks for joining this and I hope to make this the best read discussion ever!!!!!!! You may also state where you have gotten those products from!!!!!

Hi. I'm BeautyCutie14.
For Acene, I haven't found a product that I like. I have used stuff by Neutagina, but that cause me to get a lot more pimples that caused me dis comfort. For eyeliner, I have choosen a bunch. But I recently found Rimmel London is a very good eyeliner. I have the Special Eyes Precision Eye Liner pencail in baby blue.It doesn't smear and stays on when I go swimming. For eyeshadow, I use a lot of brands. For dry skin, I use pumpkin lotion that is by Organics. It is very good. You could probably get it from Bath and Body Works, or off the Internet. I got mine from Wiscousin from my gram. For a dry itchy scalp, I use Head And Shoulders Dandruf control. Blue and orange bottle, orange shampoo. For a conditioner ( since I already said my shampoo) I use Dove Go fresh. In a yellow bottle with the sent of Citrus and I forgot what else and comes out yellow. I love it. The shampoo makes my hair shiny and itch-free, and the other stuff makes my hair soft and shiny, too. So,I always want to say that Target is a very good place to get make-up products, especially the newer ones.

Fun! I'm a big fan of Target for beauty stuff, too.
1. I really like Neutrogena's Acne Stress Control, 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment (what a mouthfull) for my blackheads. I only use it on my forehead and chin where I am prone to them and it seems to work well. I use Boots Botanics Moisturizing Deep Clean Foam for my facewash. It manages to get all of my makeup off in one go without drying out my skin, a minor miracle. 1-2 times a week I use Zihr's Scrub to exfoliate my face. Technically it is for men....but eh!
2. My fav is Sonia Kashuk's gel eyeliner. That stuff stays put and is relatively cheap, to boot. I'm also a big fan of Prestige's eyeliners. I'm also a fan of Covergirl's LashBlast. =)
3. Eyeshadow....hmm. I have lots of different brands, mostly cheapo stuff (Revlon, Ulta, and Maybelline come to mind, but I have many others). I use Urban Decay's eyeshadow primer potion...I'm not sure if I could live without it! I hear good things about Too Faced Shadow Insurance, though, so I'll try it next. I won't wear eyeshadow without some sort of primer, though. It just doesn't stay put.
4. Aveeno Baby Soothing Relief Moisture Cream and Aveeno Intense Relief Overnight Cream. Target keeps both of these in odd places (aka not with the other lotions). The Baby lotion is with the baby stuff and the Overnight cream is often found with the stuff for skin problems (like oatmeal baths and such), usually by the pharmacy.
5. Don't use it =)
6. Herbal Essences Hydralicious Featherweight shampoo and conditioner. They look kinda gimmicky (they are swirly and pretty) but my hair behaves better with them, so yay. It smells good, but isn't strong enough to bother me throughout the day. I use Aveeno's volumizing foam (they also have a nice gel) and Tresemme's Heat Tamer before I blowdry.
1. acne: I have rosacea, which is a different problem than typical acne (typical acne is called "acne vulgaris"). Some of the products that treat rosacea can be used to treat regular acne. I use metronidazole gel (prescription) and eucerin redness relief cleanser which I get from the drugstore.
2. Eyeliner Aveda eyeliner pencil in dark blue and dark brown, plus trish mcevoy eyeliner that is sold in department stores (comes in a compact and you use an eyelining brush to apply it).
3. Eyeshadow: trish mcevoy powder eyeshadow and nars cream eyeshadow (I'm a sucker for the expensive stuff); for my eyebrows, I really like Laura Mercier eyebrow powder.
4. Dry Skin--my skin isn't too dry, but it does get dried out by the rosacea product I use, so I use cerave at night (available in drugstores), which I highly recommend. It's supposed to be good for rosacea and eczema (which I don't have) as well as dry skin. During the day, I use Paula's Choice extra care moisturizing sunscreen spf 30.
5. Dry Scalp/Dandruff/Itchy Scalp--I don't have these problems, but I use Nizoral (an anti-fungal dandruff shampoo) to wash my feet and scrub my nails, because I'm prone to foot and nail fungus.
6. Hair care products ( Like shampoo conditioner): Bumble gentle shampoo (salon product), herbal essences drama clean shampoo (drugstore) to clarify every 3rd or 4th day, sebastian whipped cream to condition and style (available at salons and some drugstores), good for wavy hair styling and fine hair styling.
1. Finally outgrew my acne. I am the weird one here. I use extra virgin olive oil to clean my combination skin. (Rub it into the skin, tissue off, then wipe clean with a wash cloth wrung out in hot water.) Since I started using the EVOO I haven't had any breakouts on my face. They came around once a month, at least, before then.
2. Rimmel Exaggerate Waterproof Eye Definer in Sable (I put that on after using powder shadow on my lids, then I use powder shadow in a similar color to trace over the line. That makes it stay put all day.)
3. Eyeshadow...I like matte powder shadows. L'Oreal has some good ones. I like the Wear Infinite Duos Eye Shadow, Sand Dune. I use Wet N Wild powder shadow in cream (shimmery) just touched on the inner corners of the eyes (near the tear ducts) and just under the arch of the brow. I also particularly like Physicians Formula Matte Collection Quad Eye Shadow, Canyon Classics. That one has all the components needed for a nude eye look for me. I also use brow powder Maybelline Ultra Brow Brush on Color, Light Brown.
4. My skin only feels dry in the winter months when I am constantly in indoor heat. In the summer I can use just my Extra Virgin Olive Oil mixed with a little water in my hands and applied to damp skin. In the winter to give a little more moisture I mix the EVOO with my lotion. My very favorite lotion of all time doesn't seem to be available anywhere anymore so I am shopping around to find a new favorite. If all else fails one of the best and cheapest cures for dry skin is plain old Vaseline. Apply to damp skin after you pat dry from the shower.
5. Don't have problems with a dry scalp. Truth be known my scalp is more normal now than it has ever been. I use sulfate free shampoo every third day, cheapo conditioners (with no silicones) conditioner washing every day, and styling products with no silicones. Once a week I deep condition with Extra Virgin Coconut Oil. My wavy/curly hair isn't frizzy anymore. I got very tired of the process of washing and drying straight every single day. Doing that made me end up with an oily scalp and seriously dry ends. Much better the way I do it now!
6. well that kind of continues the previous thought...I use Nature's Gate Organics Organic Fruit Blends Shampoo, Color Protecting, Persimmon & Rose Geranium and EO Shampoo, Nourishing Rose & Chamomile, Rose & Chamomile. For conditioner I use Suave Tropical Coconut or VO5 Vanilla Mint. The styling products? A tiny dab (pea-sized) of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil through wet hair to keep the frizz at bay, the Fruit of the Earth Aloe Gel mixed with Aussie Aussome Volume Gel and scrunch.
Most of my products are inexpensive ones. I don't like to spend lots on products. My shampoos are more expensive now than my conditoners, which is the opposite of what I used to do, but since I only shampoo every third day I don't use nearly as much shampoo as I used to use so it ends up cheaper overall!
I like Target too but we don't have one in our little town. I get most of my products at WalMart. For the things I cannot get in my little town, like the shampoos, I shop online at drugstore.com.
And yes....I am kinda high maintenance aren't I? ;-)
Where I live, the town next to ( I would say,. but then that would be big no no) us re modled their Target, and across the street is Sam's and Walmart. I've never bought Walmart make-up
They carry many of the same brands Target carries. Mass market brands. Olay, Neutrogena, Dove, Pantene, Suave, Lubriderm, Garnier, Clairol, Tresemme, Aussie....and a few I had not seen at the Target store we go to once in a while - Rimmel, Hard Candy and New York Color come to mind.
Hi Beautycutie--that is so funny, I was even going to ask if you might have rosacea, except that it's very unusual in teenagers. I think what made me wonder is that the neutrogena acne product you used caused discomfort and made you break out, and that's exactly what happened to me with a salicylic acid product I used from neutrogena. If you're sure you have rosacea, then you definitely don't want to use the products for regular acne without checking with your dermatologist because they can sometimes really flare it up. But check with your mom to be sure that's the name of what you have, because rosacea is uncommon in young people (though it does occur). To make things even more complicated, some people (especially young people) have both rosacea and regular acne at the same time. Do you flush or blush a lot? Does your face sting when you put certain things on it? Any red blotches (other than pimples)?
acne: panoxyl 5% and Neutrogena Acne Eliminating Spot Gel Rapid Clear
eyeliner: i alternate between MAC Smolder, Estee Lauder Artists's Eye Pencil in softsmudge black and Benefits BadGal all for my waterline, i use Coastal Scents gel liner in black for my upper lid
eyeshadow: i have probably over 100 of them, MAC, Shu Uemura, Sleek, Estee Lauder, Ruby Rose, Nyx... Highly recommend all of them, including Coastal Scents 80 palette.
dry skin: when i get eczema patches on my temples La Roche-Posay Nutritic cream with lipids is a life saver. Otherwise BHA gel for exfoliating really helped my dry flaky skin.
dry scalp: coconut oil
also i like Loreal sunscreen (vichy, solar, La roche posay), Clinique 7 day scrub, La Femme Fresh soap for private parts, ELF tinted moisturisers, Aussie deep conditioners
Lindygirl- I'll check it out. I'm not a big fan of Walmart. but I actually did check out there lip glosses.
Sarah- I believe that's what I have because my mom brought home some panflettes ( I have no clue how to spell that-sorry) that had told about that and what causes it and some treatments. So I believe that's what I have. I'm not sure. Because, I don't know if this has anything to do with it, but I have this medium sized redish brownish rash on the lower part of my neck that only gets irritated when I sweat- A.K.A bike camp. And now its spreaing in little dot forms onto my stomach. They only get irritated again when I sweat but that happens all the time. Were going to the Doctor's for my yearly check-up this friday so we'll have to ask him. But my derm didn't know what it was either. But who knows.
Interesting if you have it--I know teens can get it, just not commonly. What does your emoticon mean, it's cute but I'm a little clueless when it comes to emoticons as I mentioned. If it isn't geeky of me to ask for an interpretation lol...
for acne/blackheads i use paula's choice 2% bha exfoliator..right now i have the lotion but am thinking of switching to the liquid. bar none this is the best anti-acne/pore cleanser/exfoliator i've ever used. i'm a guy so don't use much in the way of makeup (since i don't go clubbing i don't wear much eyeliner these days! ) for dry skin i don't have one particular product, but i am a HUGE fan of isomers skincare out of canada. their products are found on shopnbc or at their website www.isomers.ca they've started switching their creams to a 'liquid crystal' base which is supposed to be superior to oil in water or water in oil emulsions. it's a great delivery vehicle for actives in skincare as well it not only moisturizes well to begin with but actually, from studies of the manufacturer, increases moisture over an eight hour period. i find the liquid crystal base (olivem 1000) good for my slightly dry skin, and also it never feels like anything on my skin, it just makes my skin feel like healthy skin...if that makes sense. should my skin ever start feeling a bit too dry i find having a humidifier running a major help!
i don't have issue with dry scalp so i can't comment so much on that. i tend towards the 'organix' brand for hair care...not because i'm into 'organic', but because they make some delightful scents and are sulfate free. i don't think sulfates evil, it's just sodium lauryl sulfate tends to make my scalp itchy, so i look for products without it. because my hair is kept pretty short i don't tend to use conditioners, my hair's pretty healthy without them.
