My mom used to steam her face, and taught me how. Steam opens up the pores on your face so that you can get a deeper clean. It feels really good, especially if you feel depressed or sick. I think it makes a difference, especially with blackheads. All you have to do is boil a cup or two of water in a tea kettle, pour it into a bowl, bend your head over the bowl and cover your head and face and breathe in carefully for about 15 minutes, or as long as you can stand it. If you have some essential oils, put a few drops in the water for a real relaxing aromatherapy treatment.
Also, you can buy face steamers. You plug it up and pour water in it and put your face in it when the water boils. If you don't have time, you can always wet a rag in as hot water you can stand, squeeze it out, and cover your face with it. I do that right before I wash my face in the shower.
Hope it helps and happy steaming! :)
Please note, be really careful when steaming your face. You can get burned. Also, if I am remembering correctly, you should not use steam if you have rosacea.
