I've only tried Blinc Kiss Me.. and it's super easy to remove.. you just use warm water to rub your lashes (very very very gently), and little tubes come sliding off.
Plus when I was wearing it, people thought I had falsies on. =D
I haven't tried Blinc Kiss Me but I own Fiberwig. I've seen great reviews about both, though. It takes a little practice to get the full benefit of Fiberwig from my experience, but it definitely did lengthen my lashes like no mascara has ever done before! Done right - that is, if I'm not in a rush like I usually am - I can basically achieve a falsies look. Plus, it doesn't smudge all day - once I even left it on overnight by accident, and when I woke up it was still perfectly intact (no panda eyes!).
Oh, and it comes off VERY easily too, something I was quite happy about. :)
I guess the only thing that detracts from this mascara is that it doesn't volumize quite as much as some other mascaras out there. However, I've found its volumizing abilities to be perfectly acceptable, and I have pretty sparse lashes.
I am cursed with stick-straight Asian eyelashes. I am utterly dependent on my eyelash curler! My mascara experimentation, alas, has pretty much been confined to those sample size tubes that come in the Gift w/Purchase sets from Lancome, Clinique, etc. I think Deficils (Lancome) works best for me but it seems to me to have the most condensed bristles on the wand. I saw an ad for Cover Girl or Maybeline where there's a reeeeeeally skinny wand with lots of compact hairs, and I have a feeling that would work just fine for me.
Oh, and just to throw this out, I read in another forum about eyelash perming! Seems this service is offered in some Chinatown salons. I don't know, I cringe at the thought of having a hot iron anywhere near my eyes (though I'm sure it's a much safer procedure than that).
I'm loving the Fiberwig because I got so many compliments on my eyes today, and I wasn't even wearing eye shadow!!
I just put on some Lemonaid from Benefit, smudged some Eye Bright on the corners, a thin line with Smudgepot, and a few coats of Fiberwig. Normally my coworker compliments me on my eyeshadows, but today she was just like, "omigod your eyes are so pretty!"
Then, my sister, with the same gorgeous eyes, complimented my eyes when she saw me.
So yes.. I'm convinced Fiberwig is awesome, and the fact that I got it for 1/2 of how much Sephora's selling it makes me love it just a tad more.
As for other mascaras I've tried recently.. I didn't like Benefit's Great Lash that much.. It was pretty good at volumizing my lashes, and the black was very intense, BUT it smudged. I ended up with raccoon eyes and that made me sad. It just ruined my day.. I know I know.. but it was really bad..
Lancome's Definicils was just OK for me. Nadine Haobsch says they are the best mascaras, but I thought they were just OK. It didn't really do much to separate my lashes or to give it any lift, and it certainly didn't define it as well as say.. Lash Exact?
Paula Begoun's products are pretty good.. I started out using the 2% BHA gel every day during morning and night, but that was a bit overkill for me (my cheeks started drying out on the 3rd or 4th day). Now I use it every other day at night, and it helps clear out my skin without irritating it. I recently went to bed 2 nights in a row without taking off my make up (yes yes, I'm awful), so the next night I used the 2% BHA, and woke up with a glowing and clearer day. My pimples were reduced dramatically, so I was happy.
The cleanser is very soft and gentle. It's not my favorite favorite cleanser ever, but not bad at all. I do tend to like cleansers that washes out really clean and somewhat dry.
I've only tried the lotion once, so I don't have a full opinion yet. It's very different from the Boots No. 7 moisturizing gel that I've been using. I actually just finished up my jar of Boots No. 7, so starting tomorrow I'll start using the lotion.
I really hope you like Fiberwig. It IS somewhat pricey at Sephora. Another option that I recommended was Prestige, and Karen has fallen in love with it. =D
I was writing up a list of mascaras that I've used in 2007 for my blog, and I realized... this year alone, I've tried out 9 different mascaras. 9!!!!!
no wonder my sister complains that I'm obsessed with make up...
I gotta say... Prestige Lash Matrix is the BEST out of the entire bunch..
wow.. is this thread old?!??
Anyhow.. I wanted to share my new favorite mascara. Last year seemed to be the year of vibrating mascara wands, but I didn't really hop on the train. They are super expensive, so really, who can afford them in this economy??
So I had my sister pick up Japanese brand mascaras in Taiwan while she was there. She picked up a tube from a brand "Kiss Me" called "Goodlash Power Beam Eyes". And well.. here's a picture of my lashes 14 hours after I put it on, after going to work and the gym!
Totally smudge proof.. like.. I used a makeup wipe to remove my eye makeup prior to exercising, and it stayed. It does come off with oil based makeup removers though. =D
I have more pix of it up here: http://juicywatermelon.onsugar.com/2705628
Another vote for Lash Exact- tried everything, including department store money guzzlers and it is by far the best I've ever found.
Oh- ReneB- yes please, please show us your lashes. I've been looking at that product you mentioned- heard lots of good things. Pleae post your eyelash pics!
Let's not let this thread die. I have a little problem with liking expensive products. Maybe it makes me feel like I'm treating myself (only I'm not treating my wallet). Anyway, my latest splurge has been shu uemura mascaras. A lot of people seem to think they're the best, and I must say, the tube design really does prevent clumping. I even got a shu uemura lash curler because I'm getting a little overboard right now on the beauty kick...Never even wore mascara until now (early 40's--midlife crisis?). The black-brown color looks great with light eyes. So does the blue! They have a blue color that is perfect in my opinion--it's not a navy but it's not a bright blue, it's just a dark but intense blue.
I saw my daughter's eyelashes looking exceptionally glossy and thick the other day(apart from the fact,it's natural for her);she had Benefit's Can't Remember -what-it's-called-Mascara.Anyway, I tried it and really liked the effect. The Great Lash mystique-never understood it as it didn't work for me.The vibrating wand-sounds vaguely suspicious to me
I've tried practically everything too (the vibrating, the ball shaped, the tube, the double ended, high end and low end, the all of them) and I've recently fallen in love with Imju Fiberwig.
I can now see why it's a best seller. I have naturally thick but short lashes, so I'm always looking for maximum length. But I have very oily lids so by the end of the day most mascaras are usually smeared to my lids. Additionally, my lashes grow every which way so they're very hard to "straighten" and declump unless I'm combing after every coat.
Fiberwig knocks it out of the park for me. I noticed a lot of clumping at first until I realized that I really shouldn't wiggle the wand as I apply this mascara (kind of like the vibrating ones, if you do that, you will have a gross clumpy mess). I literally just hold it at the base of my lashes and keep blinking now. At first blink, it's just a natural emphasis. After several blinks/coats I have more dramatic lashes then with almost any mascara I've tried before. After about 10 blinks/coats, my lashes are at my brows (and I have high brows). All this (I get very excited about long lashes, former lash extension addict here) and not a smudge, not a flake and if I apply the proper way, not a clump. And because it's a tube mascara, warm water removal. I mean RIDICULOUS! I literally looked up at god with gratefulness one day, shed a tear of joy and my mascara still didn't move. Yes it costs me almost 30$ CDN, but I will pay anything anytime for this mascara perfection until someone makes a great drugstore knockoff.
i hate dior show, the brush is too big, it has way too much fragrance and the mascara itself is not the best. but i will use it up, the one i go to for length is maybeline define a lash, for volume - clinique high impact: lovely brush, builds volume without clumping and doesn't need a lot of coats to look great.
