Does Benzoyl Peroxide cause darkening of the skin?

    I've been applying benzoyl peroxide (2.5% to be exact) and I've noticed that my skin has been darkening a bit more than the rest of my body. I wear SPF 50 sunblock on my face only, so I find it strange that only my face is darkening. Could the Benzoyl peroxide be changing my skin tone?
