Could Cooking oil be used on the skin as moisturiser?
  • Am i able to use Extra Virgin Olive Oil on my skin? Since the cooking oil is safe for consumtion, then is it also alright to be used on the skin?
  • I use it on my skin all the time. For the past 3 years + I have cleaned my face with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I buy it at the grocery store. I also mix it in with my lotion in the palm of my hand and apply it daily after my shower. My skin has never looked better. All I can say is it works for me. :-)
  • This is my first time to hear about cooking oil used as moisturizer. If it really does magic, then why not. As long as it keeps the skin healthy and clean, there is nothing wrong about it.

  • A friend of mine who runs a bath salt company uses EVOO in her body moisturizing rubs. Her's are scented though. Check her ingredients out, you might get ideas for your own tonic at thesaltproject.com.
  • You can also use regular salt mixed with EVOO as a body scrub. I actually prefer to make my scrubs with sugar though, especially in winter. White sugar works, but brown sugar is the best! I find that for my skin sugar is less drying than salt. But what works for me may not work for others. :-)
  • I like brown sugar. Here's a quick facial scrub recipe. Works wonders: 1 lemon, 1 cotton pad, and brown sugar. Squeeze the lemon onto the cotton pad, sprinkle the brown sugar over that and scrub face.

It'll leave your skin so soft. I got this from that YouTuber, Kandee Johnson. She has a tutorial on it. Here's a tiny link to it. http://bit.ly/lemontrick. It goes to YouTube.
