Hi, I am having huge problems finding a moisturiser that suits my skin. My skin is pretty strange I break out if I use soap, tea tree oil, aloe vera etc the only really good moisturiser I ever had was the Timotei one which they stopped making ages ago. Since then Ive used Superdrugs chamomile moisturiser but it isnt strong enough for winter, neither is Pierre Ricaud combination skin anti wrinkle care. Please help.
I am not familiar with the brands you mentioned so I am no help there, but I do have an idea. After cleansing you could continue to use your regular moisturizer and then 'seal it in' with a super thin coating of plain old Vaseline. Pure petroleum jelly makes a wonderful moisturizer because it seals the water into the skin. The only drawback might be if it is too occlusive and causes breakouts.
To add to Lindygirl's suggestions--if you are breaking out in response to many different products and ingredients, it's a good idea to check with a dermatologist. For example, I have a common skin condition called rosacea that leads my skin to be hypersensitive. As long as I use the treatment my dermatologist prescribed for my rosacea, I don't react to nearly as many products. So sometimes it isn't just the products, you may have an underlying problem that's treatable. I will say that tea tree oil is a common irritant. So do you have combination skin? How old are you approximately? What are you looking for in a moisturizer?
