The EU member states (European Union) commissioned a study on parabens through the independent scientific committee, the Scientific Community for Consumer Safety (SCCS). The results of that study have now been published, and the result is that parabens have once and for all been deemed safe for use in cosmetic products. It's about time! I've been on the soapbox for decades talking about the intrinsic safety of parabens, used at the proper loading levels, in cosmetic products. It will be interesting to see how the chemophobes, the environmental working group (EWG) and other naysayers take this brand new news. It absolutely shoots holes in all of their non-scientific claims and theories.
Here is a link to the announcement of the findings:
Glad there's someone else around here who's into anti-chemophobia topics. Have you been to the personal care truth site? They have a lot to say about parabens.
