I would like to know how oil(vegetable) alone works to cleanse the skin, or does it? I understand is similar structure to the skin so can be absorbed but how does it then rinse away with just water?
also, are vegetable oils ok for combination or oily skins, will they block these types and so create spots?
thankyou
Hi valverde! I am only a forum member, but I can tell you what works for me. I have used nothing but Extra Virgin Olive Oil to clean the oily, sensitive, break-out prone skin on my face for over four years. My skin is now less oily and my break-outs are non-existent.
I rub about a tablespoon of EVOO onto dry skin at night to loosen makeup. I use a tissue to remove it. I repeat the process. The second time the tissue comes away clean. I then wring a clean washcloth out in hot tap water and use it to clean the residue off my skin. In the winter I do sometimes put a drop or two of EVOO back onto my very damp skin before applying the nightly treatment I use.
In the morning I take a clean cotton round, dampened with hot water and a few drops of EVOO and rub it all over my face and neck before I get into the shower. In the shower I simply rinse my face. Once out I apply my daily spf 55 sunblock, primer, then makeup.
All I can say is this does work for me. I am not saying it will work for everyone because everyone's skin is different.
