Good shampoo and conditioner?
  • I need a good shampoo and conditoner. I have tried pretty much every drug store brand and also have used tigi products and havent found any that i really like yet. I have color treated hair and i heat style it almost everyday. My hair is also very thin. Can anyone help me find a good shampoo and conditioner?
  • If your hair is thin, you might see if you can get samples of the Living Proof "full" shampoo and conditioner.  They have samples at sephora.  I haven't tried them yet, but I like the "full" thickening cream from the same line.  Personally, I like Bumble gentle shampoo, but if I use it every day, it's too conditioning for my hair, so I have to alternate it with a more clarifying shampoo.  If you have thin hair, you might also like the Sebastian whipped creme mousse, which I use in place of a conditioner (it's my one-step styling product plus leave-in conditioner); it's very conditioning as styling products go.  You'd have to go easy on the amount of it so you don't weigh down your hair.
  • Well, everyone's different - my mom, for instance, loves Dove, but I find them too greasy and heavy. I normally used Pantene but recently I was in Dollar Tree and found a product called Tame. (Not avalible through Dollar Tree's website, I checked.) I had picked it up because it said it was "America's favorite since 1978" and that it makes hair "groovy." Because I always check labels due to the whole deadly products coming out of China thing, I got a kick out of the fact it read Made In Canada. So America's favorite, made in Canada - much like William Shatner!
When I used it I found I liked it WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY better then Pantene! My hair has never been softer! And there's fewer ingrediants so it kind of shocked me. (Please forgive any misspellings, BTW, I'm on a browser without spellcheck at the moment.) In fact, the next time I went I totally stocked up.
That doesn't mean you'll like it. You might use Tame and hate it with a fiery passion. You might be allergic to it. But it's my new favorite. My hair is totally groovy!
Though due to polycystic ovary syndrome I'm still losing it. *sighs*
  • Taking care of your hair is one of the most important parts of your beauty routine and choosing the correct shampoo for your hair type can mean the difference between great hair and so-so hair. I have some Suggestions Try it. And I am sure your problem will be solved

Redkin Shampoo & Conditioner for color treated hair. To add more volume try teasing your hair or get layers in your hair. It also depends what type if hair you have. Also try not to use products in your hair. It may weigh it down. you can also try Pantene Pro V for Color Treated Hair works great! makes it so soft and helps it to not be as damaged.

  • @Vihxen - To answer your question we really need more information.

What exactly don't you like about the shampoos that you tried?  Try to explain it in terms of how the hair feels after your done, how it styles, and the overall experience.  With more clarification we could give a better answer.

In general, the type of shampoo you use really will not have much differing effect on your hair if you also use a conditioner.  If you use shampoo alone, then of course it will.  But think of shampoo and conditioner in the same way as using primer and pain on a wall.  The type of primer you use will have almost no effect on the color of the wall once the paint is put on.  The shampoo you use will have almost no effect on hair once the conditioner is used.
  • I agree with LeftBrain but, I do have Shampoo / Conditioner combos I like better than others. I like using a Clean, Clear, Light or Non-Conditioning shampoo before using a conditioner especially a deep conditioner. Using a creamy, conditioner or silicone rich shampoo then a conditioner seems to leave my hair heavy, greasy or 'sticky' OR the conditioner seems to remove some of the conditioner from the shampoo leaving it feel LESS CONDITIONED than the shampoo alone.
  • All of us want to have a pretty good looking hair.We have shampoos that can make hair thicker and look pretty.
