Tell Us Your Latest Make-Up Purchase
  • The family and I took advantage of Virginia's Tax-Free Weekend by dropping copious amounts of money at the Prime Outlets in Williamsburg. Besides the school clothes, sneakers, and fancypants sauces from Le Gourmet Chef, I stopped at the Estee Lauder outlet!!! There's also a Lancome store, believe it or not, but all they carry is Lancome.

    I bought:
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Block in Peony. I've been eyeballing this at Nordstrom. This one was for the Japanese market! The product insert and sticker on the compact is in Japanese and I immediately thought, "I must post about this at The Beauty Brains!"
Clinique Color Surge eyeshadows in a rich purple and light lilac. Purples look great with my green eyes.
MAC nail lacquer in Cabana. Impulse buy! It's a super-wicked-awesome blue with green/purple shimmer. It goes on quite shear so it'll be fine for work.

Alas, the Boys got most of the clothing. The Kidlet's going into 2nd grade and is growing like mad. Ron (DH) seems to be loosing weight without trying (so not fair) and he got pants. I did get new exercise sneakers at Saucony and some cheapy tanktops at Gap.

OH!!! And I'm happy to say that after walking around in superhumidity, 98 degrees, my DiorShow mascara didn't flake or run. When I used Maybelline's Volume Express I ended up with flaky raccoon eyes.
  • I recently bought:

    SoftSoap Nurti-Oil Body Wash
    Gold Bond Foot Cream

Both just fine but hopelessly BOOOOOOORINGLY practical.

I'm working my way up to getting some Laura Mercier foundation.
  • I haven't tried the LM foundation yet, but I love love love their tinted moisturizer. I have no doubt that their foundation would be fantastic too!

I just bought a Boots Botanical's Conditioning Clay Mask, and it's green! My first ever green mask.. :P

and last week I bought 2 Covergirl mascaras. The "Professional All-in-One Waterproof mascara" and the "Professional Super thick Lash mascara". I've only used the waterproof one, and I like that it gives me natural looking lashes that are just more lush than my normal lushes.

and I also bought a grapefruit bath scrub from Trader Joe's. It's so luscious and makes my skin feel wonderful.
  • Most recently I stocked up on boring basics -- Clinique Continuous rescue antioxidant moisterizer and super city block sunscreen and Laura Mercier tinted moisterizer. I also picked up a Stila lip glaze in brown sugar.
  • laura mercier moisturizing foundation in vanilla beige -- Yummy! i've used other foundation products from this line, but i think i found my best friend :-).

special note to those using LM tinted moisturizer -- i loved this product until it was brought to my attention that it was not a complete sunscreen. although i don't mind wearing sunscreen underneath a foundation, if i buy a product which claims to provide sun protection, i expect that protection to be adequate. i'll not repurchase that product although application was flawless. i'm looking at replacing with stila when tube is bone dry. at $40 a pop i cut the end off the tube and scrape with a clean popsicle stick to get every last drop.
  • Acutally, it's also a lousy moisterizer so I use a sunscreen and a moisterizer under it. I'm only using it to even out my complexion in the areas that need it. So even if it were a terrific sunscreen and moisterizer I wouldn't be using enough to be effective. I like it because it gives me the coverage that I want but is sheer enough that I can easily blend it in. I'm not very good at that whole blending thing (I've completely given up on using concealer) so this is very important. I don't mind the cost because I use so little of it but I also cut the tube open to get every last bit out.
  • Without using at least moisturizer underneath, it goes on my face really blotchy. Then again, the MA told me of that before I purchased it. :P I think my current one is too light for my skin in the summer, and at $40, I don't think I can afford to get a separate tube just for the summer. Ugh.. I hate summer!!
  • Finally bought St. Tropez self tanner (SHH!!! Everyone thinks it's from my vacation in Florida. I actually wore sunblock and a hat the whole time!). It goes on really messy and will make a mess of your clothing and sheets, but it sure does leave a nice color without streaks once you shower the next morning. And I've yet to discover the orange hands and elbows, as long as I am careful.

Fauxmccoy- make sure you thoroughly test the stila in the store before you buy it! I REALLY didn't like it. It left my skin incredibly oily and shiny. The shine never went away, the whole day, and I was afraid the oiliness would make me break out. I had to use a ton of powder over it, and eventually I just threw it away in anger! I have been much happier with the Lancome tinted moisterizer, which claims to have SPF15, but, as you discovered with Laura Mercier, I guess this can be a deceptive claim! But I find the lancome makes my skin really look fantastic, but not fake or painted like foundation might. Seems to moisterizer alright too, though it's a tad greasy to use big amounts. I still use some sort of sunblock under it most of the time.
  • For some reason I keep procrastinating about buying new foundation. I was going to get Laura Mercier and then I saw good reviews about Bare Escentials Mineral system.

Since several of you have used Laura Mercier I thought I would ask for advice. I wanted to get the tinted moisturizer because I just want to even out my skin tone and I didn't want to have to invest in foundation AND primer. I planned on using that over my Neutrogena Oil Free Sunscreen which I LOVE. Can anyone compare these LM products for me? And why does LM sell a primer?

And has anyone who has used either LM and Bare Escentials tell me the pros and cons of both/either. This shouldn't be rocket science but I am very bad at making decisions like this. Don't even get me started on choosing a concealer.

    Thanks.
  • I switched from BE to LM's tinted moisturizer.

For me, BE would look GREAT on my face for the first 15-30 minutes. But afterwards, it starts to get really cakey and gross looking. I end up looking like I have way too much make up on (which isn't the look I'm going for). I also start to look really shiney. This happened with my sister too, and she has dry skin where as I have oily skin.

So I got the LM tinted moisturizer, and now I look like I just have great skin, which is soooo far from the truth.
  • judy, i would like to take a stab at answering your questions as i have fair amount of experience with both mineral foundations and the LM line in particular. it isn't possible to compare a mineral foundation to a tinted moisturizer because they are very different products, but i'll try to break it down. here goes.

    1. primers are relatively new to the more prestigious product lines and in general are nothing more than glorified moisturizers. they simply add to a cosmetics company's sales dollars. that being said, i do like some of these products, those with silicone do temporarily smooth the surface of the skin, but so would any silicone product. as much as i love LM, i find the primer to be unnecessary in terms of purpose and expense.

    1. BareMinerals contains titanium dioxide and zinc oxide (UVA and UVB protection) in addition to bismuth oxychloride, mica, and iron oxides. LM contains all of the above plus pearl powder. if you choose either of these products, the use of a 15 spf sunscreen is not necessary because the mineral powder itself provides a physical barrier.

    2. the LM tinted moisturizer provides sheer coverage in a good selection of shades. the texture is sumptuous but there are two major pitfalls -- the $40 price tag and lack of UVA sun protection as mentioned above. in my experience, the LM counters provide generous samples of their products as well as competent color matching.

    3. the questions that remain are the type of coverage you are seeking and and your skin type. the tinted moisturizer is sheer and if you are trying to cover serious blemishes you may not be satisfied. the mineral formulas eliminate the need for additional sunscreen, provide buildable coverage, disguise blemishes fairly well. and are suitable for oily skin types.

    hope this helps. happy shopping!
  • Thanks, taiwanesgurl and fauxmccoy for helping me sort this out.
I appreciate your perspectives on this oh-so-important purchase. Now I just need to wait til next payday!
Another follow-up question...when buying foundation do you think it is better to go to a department store or to Sephora and/or Ulta? Would one do a better color match, etc?
  • St. Tropez tanning mousse! It's great!

The color is less deep than the lotion, but it also dries faster and is less prone to streaking.

Same smell, which I have always preferred over other tanning lotions.
  • My latest purchase was Skin Actives Scientific Bright-I cream, their Alpha-Beta peel, Pumpkin Peel enzyme, and Bobbi Brown moisturizing foundation, corrector and concealer.
  • I just got Cover Girls' Liquid Pencil. I'm really wary of CG products, but Glamour, I think, recomended it for spazzes like me who love liquid liner but can't put it on well. It's kind of like a felt-tipped pen for your eyes.
I also just bought the hair-dye I use--Chocolate Cherry by Feria, this great dark brown-red shade. I've been using this since I was16, which is kind of sad...
  • MoxieHart - Try the liquid liner from Stylis Style (I think that's what it's called). I found mine at CVS for about $1.99 or $2.99. The tip is a bit harder, and felt tip like CG's, and it goes on great! I get compliments when I wear them, even at 9/10 PM, after a whole day of running around (school).

I haven't bought anything in a week, and I'm feeling quite antsy. My sister has this blush brush that's so soft with a great shape.. I should buy one of that too.

-Sigh.. I'm such a shopaholic when it comes to beauty products.. I'm totally running out of storage space in my 3ftx5ft bathroom (damn LA apartments!).

Plus my hubby will be totally mad if I come home with any more beauty products. He doesn't understand that shopping to me is like playing video games for him.

  • My latest purchase was Neutrogena Moisture Shine Lip Soother (color sheen). I have two and love them both!

I also LOVE LOVE LOVE Bare Minerals. I love Make-up but always hated foundation. I was hesitant to buy it, but my sister in law had let me use hers one time and I immediately purchased it. I feel like I'm not wearing any make-up and I generally just use it and maybe some eyeliner (still learning how to use it) or mascara and of course my gloss :)
  • i'm going to sound like a total junkie here -- but these were mostly exchanges for products that just did not work with my rosacea riddled skin. although i am hopelessly devoted to laura mercier, some of her products just didn'[t work for me, notably cream shadow base and cake eye liners.

LORAC pressed powder -- feels great, i just use a small amount to set concealer. this should last me a long long time

Stila smudge pot -- brown gel eyeliner. i am loving this product. i'm pretty good with a liquid eyeliner but find most brands flake throughout the day. gels seem to solve this problem. i like this brand much more than the smashbox (too smeary, took forever to set) and bobbi brown's.

Shiseido hydro powder -- cream to powder eye shadow in a peachy color to use as a base or just on lazy days when i don't want to do the whole shadow scene. i am loving this product too. it feels cool and soothing on my sensitive eyes (ocular rosacea, ick). the color selection is pretty wild so finding a neutral was nice. the texture is superb and as the product sets it isn't overwhelmingly dry which was my complaint with laura mercier's cream base.
  • taiwanesegurl- I feel you on the LA apt space. I've resorted to storing make-up and hair products in containers in my bedroom.
  • I finally bit the bullet and got the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. I opted for the oil-free variety because that is what I have been using with other lines. I hope that the Nordstrom girl did a good color match because I still have to use my Benefit Concealer. It does say to "layer" it for more coverage which might be what I need to do. I am such a bad shopper when it comes to expensive things...I always second guess myself and then wonder if I made the right purchase. Since I am also having trouble with the new Revlon 3-D Mascara maybe I am just hopelessly lame in applying cosmetics. Sigh...
  • It's hard to go wrong with the LM tinted moisterizer because it's so sheer. However, if you decide that you've got the wrong color then take it back. It's too expensive to toss.
  • judy -- good for you for stepping out on that limb! i honestly believe the LM is the best foundation product on the market and have really loved it to help tone done my rosacea. i hear you second guessing yourself and of course it's normal when doing something that different for you.

do you feel that the color match is good? does the color disappear when you look at it in natural light? sometimes i find that sales people do have trouble matching foundation to those of us with rosacea. you obviously want the color to blend perfectly with the non-ruddy portion of your face. i almost always need to use a concealer for my dark circles and rosy cheeks when i use the tinted moisturizer. it is a super sheer foundation. (i also encourage you to use a good sunscreen underneath it)

because of my rosacea and because my skin can behave differently from day to day, i actually have three different LM foundations on hand depending on the coverage i need. i have the tinted moisturizer, moisturizing foundation, and the silk creme, covering the entire coverage spectrum. sometimes, i even mix two of them together to get the precise coverage i need for the day.

also, LM is very generous with their samples so you may want to play with some of the other formulas before deciding what is perfect for you.

i'd be happy to share any other info with you if you'd like, feel free to email me at fauxmccoy@hotmail.com.
  • My very last purchase was a lipstick by Clinique: Moisture Sheer in Ruby Kiss. It goes on quite sheer indeed so for me it's the perfect red to wear to my office job.

I love Clinique a lot, except for their foundations. I find them very hard to work with because almost all colours tend to have an orange tinge and I don't like the feeling of the product on my skin. The last foundation I bought was the new one from Chanel, Teint Innocence. It goes on perfectly but if you have combined or oily skin, you'll get a shiny face during the day. For that matter I prefer Shiseido Dual Balancing. It doesn't keep my face shine free all day but a least the biggest part of it ;-)
  • My last purchase was RETURNING to Mabelline Great Lash after a bad experience with the new 3-D Revlon mascara.
  • I hope the Laura Mercier tinted moisterizer worked out for you at least.
  • I stoppped by the MAC counter to pick up some of the LE nailpolishes and wound up getting a lipstick also. I've heard that there lipsticks are great and apparently we're all supposed to be wearing lipstick this fall so I thought I'd try one. So far, so good but it's only been 3 hours. Any MAC fans out there? What else is good?
  • I dropped too much money at Macy*s back in CA. We have Smacy*s here in SE VA (Small + Macy*s = Smacy*s). Ah, my beloved Benefit! I bought That Gal!, a pink face primer, more Lemonade (yellow eyelid primer), and 10, a bronzer/highlighter in one box. Paula loved that stuff!

Still madly in love in DiorShow. After a full day (therapy, work, lunch with hubby, pedicure, and a flight from Norfolk to Sacramento), I only had 2 flakes of mascara and that's because I rubbed my eyes. When we got to Hotel Hell in northern Sacramento it was 3 AM my time...and my mascara still looked great!
  • I LOVE MAC. In the past 2 months, I've bought a foundation (not sure at the moment which one, but I LOVE it, goes on so smoothly and just the right amount of coverage and it doesn't make me pink like other foundations do), Kohl Power eye pencil in Raven (which is actually black with maroon shimmer, unlike what they show online), Liquidlast Liner in Aqualine (a super-bright aqua with gold shimmer for nights out only), Pigment in Rose (which is a sparkley pink and copper, again, not so much what they show online), and Lusterglass lipgloss in Palatial (these glosses make your lips look huge without plumping ingredients).

The people who work there are just so helpful and know their stuff inside and out. I love going in and just seeing what they have that's new, everything is great. The only thing I didn't like was their spray foundation, which turned orange on me for some reason.
  • MAC is awesome! Their eyeshadows are just so pigmented and it goes on soo smoothly. I go to MAC to get wild colors. Their Studio Fix powder foundation is also really good. It offers a lot of coverage and it's just so easy and quick to apply.

I recently bought Olay's Regenerist Targeted Tone Enhancer. I have some sun spots and acne marks that I'd love to get rid of, and this wasn't too pricey ($17/$18?). I'll let you guys know in a month how my sun spots are doing.
  • Taiwanesegurl, I used Olay's Targeted Tone Enhancer for awhile on a bad sunspot I have and it caused a blistering effect which still has not gone away. I had hoped the blisteri would just fall off to reveal clearer skin but that didn't happen.

I am going to have to have my dermatologist treat that area as he has in the past. by freezing it or whatever he does to blister it effectively. I hope you have better luck than I did.
  • yesterday I bought several new make up items:

clinique's touch tint in Gold- I used this for years as my go to cream eyeshadow, I'm back and happy to say I still love it! The only thing I ever liked from clinique...

3 victoria secret lip items as follows:

very sexy lip stain in 'celebutante'- gives just enough pink color to make my lips look flushed and is not drying. love it.

very sexy lip shine in 'quiver' (gold color)- a healthy dose of golden shimmer and makes my lips very supple. more pigment than I think I should wear so I layer it with the...

very sexy lip gloss in 'bling'- a sheer gold fleck infused gloss that dilutes the lip shine for me. sticky at first but softens once it settles- love it.

very happy with my purchases! $10 sale on those VS lip items!
  • I got an IsaDora eye shadow duo and lip gloss this morning. I've never used this brand before but it's hypo-allergenic, fragrance-free and all that good stuff so I thought I'd try it. I love the express star gloss; very sparkly and shiny. It looks good on it's own but I think it will layer well too. I've only tried the shadow on the back of my hand but the colors that I got (frosty sienna) stay true to color. Has anyone else ever used their products? I've also got a couple of their nail polishes and like them too.
  • OK so I was deinitely overdue at the pharmacy. I got:

    Neutrogena Clean Lash Tint--Thanks Sassette
Clean&Clean Advantage Spot Acne Treatment--Thanks PurpleRules and others who commented on it...although sorry it's not helping your neck Purple :(
    Clean&Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser
    Neutrogena energizing body scrub
    Neutrogena energizing body wash
Almay intense i-color bring out the hazel (although my eyes are greenish, blue, grey--the color looks like a nice one) eyeliner

And that is it. I can't wait to wash my face. The humidity sucks here!
  • I bought an eyeshadow from Wet N Wild. I haven't used it yet, but I'm excited since WNW is suppose to be totally different and better now.
  • I just purchased a 'Falling in Love' perfume from Philosophy. I aleady have the body lotion. I love love LOVE the way it smells. It's sweet though.
  • I just bought Benefit's Benetint lip and cheek tint at Sephora (there's a link to it on the Beauty Brain's homepage on the right side). I bought the one that looks like a lipstick tube so I could take it with me in my purse. I am happy to say that it really looks natural. I was finding that adding cream or powder blush on top of my foundation was looking heavy, for lack of a better word. I noticed that Elle magazine picked it as their "best blush" last year, too.
  • I just bought Cover Girl eyeslicks in 2 colors a minty color and an earthy color. I don't have them with me so I can't be specific with the names. I like them so far. It's 2:40pm here and I have had them on since 7:45am and the eyes still look nice. I used the minty color kind of like eyeliner. Looks nice.

I also bought Poshe quick drying top coat recommended by PurpleRules I believe. Haven't tried it yet...I meant to bring it to work to do my nails during naptime (I love this little guy he sleeps for close to 3 hours!)

I really just meant to buy Cranberry Pills.....
  • This is a link to a post on All laquered Up with instructions for applying seche vite. Poshe is not as thick as seche vite but you apply them the same way. You might want to try it out before you do your manicure since it's a lot thicker then polish and it dries very quickly so it's trickier to work with. I also use CND sticky for a base coat because sometimes there's shrinkage.

  • I bought Benefit's Dandelion Face Brightener (AKA blush) a couple of weeks ago. I like it and I LOVE the brush it came with. However it is packaged in a little square box rather than in a compact style case so it ISN'T really something you can stick in your purse.
  • I bought Clinique's cream eye shadow called Touch Tint in Gold Glimmer. I'm not much of a Clinique fan myself but I love this product. I've used it for a week and have had no allergic reaction to it. I also find that it stays put. It's really pretty on and goes with everything.

    Thanks, AnonymousBlonde!
  • Yay Karen!!! I'm so glad you like it!

I've also recently been using it as a highlight when I don't do a full face. Just under the brow bone, inside of eyes, and above my cheek bone in a upward sweep.
  • AnonymousBlonde: Ooh! I bet that's pretty, too.

Like I always say, I just love it when we make each other beautiful!
  • I picked up a Shu Eumora lipstick and two eyeshadows yesterday. I already had a lipstick of his that I love; it's sheer and not drying and the color stays true so I thought I'd get another. The shadows looked really nice and I was in the market for matte purples and he had a quite a few so I bought two. I felt really guilty spending that kind of money on eyeshadow (they were $20 each) but they're just gorgeous. They go on beautifully and are exactly the same color on as they are in the pan. I'm going to have a lot of fun playing with these.
  • I bought Neutrogena's Healthy Skin Enhancer tinted moisturizer about a week ago. I LOVE IT!!! It has some good stuff mixed in like sunscreen and Retinol, too. I decided to try it after reading Paula Begoun's enthusiastic review:

"Healthy Skin Enhancer SPF 20 ($10.99) combines an in-part titanium dioxide sunscreen with Retinol and a hint of color, all of which serve to enhance skin due to their respective qualities. Moreover, there is more than just a dusting of Retinol in this product, which makes it unique! It has a light, creamy texture and a satin finish appropriate for those with normal to dry skin. If an oily T-zone is an issue, this product should be set with powder to reduce the sheen it leaves on skin. The six sheer shades are great and include options for fair (but not very fair) to tan skin tones. In addition—and this is again unusual for a foundation—plenty of antioxidants are included. Neutrogena's makeup tends to be a mixed bag, but this product proves that they are capable of setting new benchmarks for their drugstore contemporaries to strive for, not just keeping up with their competitors."

I am very fair skinned and in spite of what Paula said, the lightest shade works great for me. I also picked up two samples of Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer to have something to compare it to, since I had never used a tinted moisturizer before. I actually like the Neutrogena product better, although I may be comparing apples to oranges since the Laura Mercier samples are the matte finish.
  • They placed my branch of my bank across the street from the mall.. so I went there after depositing my paycheck..

I don't know if the mall people were being super smart or what, having banks across the street from them.. but basically..

I walked into the mall saying to myself, "ok.. I ONLY need to buy a Stila Smudgepot in black and MAYBE a pair of ballet flats if I find them for $20 or less"..

There wasn't a Stila counter at the Nordstroms there, but there was a Nars.. so I finally bought the Orgasm blush after all these years.. it was between Orgasm and Deepthroat, and the MUA and I agreed that Orgasm looked better..

and I did buy a pair of ballet flats.. but they were $30...

I'm sooo soooo soooo bad!!!! but then my cheeks look sooo sooo soooo cute!
  • Judy: ....LOL But you know how it goes with personal preference: What one person loves, loves, LOVES (as Cate would say!) another person may hate. I really wanted to love LM's tinted moisturizer because there is such enthusiasm for that product on this website. I actually did my face up with LM on one side and Neutrogena on the other (got my inspiration from Left Brain on that Rivitalash thread!). Then I went into different rooms with a mirror and even outside. For my skin, Neutrogena was the hands-down winner. It does have just a bit of shine, though, so you might not like it.

BTW: I bought the Benefit Dandelion powder on Friday and LOVE it! Thanks!!! I also bought three other Benefit products: Bluffdust, You're Bluffing, and High Beam. I only went to buy the High Beam but ended up with all four after I let the MA "do her thing". I am in love with all of them!

Purchasing tip to anyone who's married: Take your husband with, under the guise of some other need to go to the mall, then go to a makeup counter and let them make you up (as if it's spur of the moment) and when he sees the dazzling effects, he'll tell you to buy it all!....LOL (It truly was unplanned for me but it sure worked out nice...NO GUILT about this purchase!)
  • Karen: Where do you apply the High Beam? I have a small tube of it that came in the concealer kit, but I'm not really sure when and where it's appropriate to apply it.

As for the husband idea... sadly that doesn't work for me. I can get all dolled up and he won't notice a thing....

after 7 years together, many different hair colors and styles, he always says "it looks the same".. -sigh.. same thing with make up... I come home looking all pretty after a day at a counter, and all he does is shake his head and sigh over the fact that I spent more money..
  • Yes, Karen, please tell me what you use the other Benefit products for. Do you also use the Benetint or was that another of our forum mates who mentioned LOVING it recently?

OK...doing a side-by-side comparison is sooooo professional. And sensible.

I think one of my problems is lighting conditions...I leave for work in the dark and after giving myself a last look I think OK...you look pretty good for 6:00 am in the morning. Then if I stand under the wrong light in the women's room at work I think YIKES...did you actually leave your house looking this way? Sadly it happens with both my hair and makeup. Nothing awful but you can't beat good lighting.
  • Gosh, Gloria: Maybe he just thinks you always look gorgeous and sees no reason to make changes! I've always gotten the impression you are a Makeup Master!

As for High Beam, I actually saw the dazzling effect of it last week on a four page spread in InStyle magazine - Hollywood stars made up with Benefit makeup. The High Beam looked like moonlight reflecting on Terri Hatcher's cheeks. Really gorgeous since it's almost iridescent. That, plus Judy's mention of Dandelion, got me to the Benefit counter. (Plus, I love my new tube of Benetint.)

Here's how the MA did it and then explained it to me: After you put on your foundation, and then stain and/or blush, put small dots of the High Beam on the very tops of your cheeks. Pat those shimmery light pink dots out with your fingertip. At the outer most areas, buff it with your finger tip to blend it in (or use a sponge). She also put a little on my brow bones. Then, she lightly used Dandelion over it, as well as on my forehead, in a sweeping out action. You definitely want the iridescent quality to show without it being too heavy so it can take a few days before you get the hang of it.

I picked up a copy of Benefit's catalog and liked what I saw. I feel like they have some interesting new products instead of the "same old/same old". I'm anxious to get back there and try some other new things! Herminione sure loves her Benefit "10" and That Gal, too! (see her post above) They also have this lip gloss that has a hint of blue (you don't really see the blue) to make your teeth look whiter. It's super mint scented to make your breath fresh, too. (Sure beats chewing gum!)

BTW: I'm still not ready to give up my Prestige mascara, in spite of the funky smell before it dries! My eyes are a WOW when I wear it. But here's a question for you: How do you think it compares to either DiorShow or Dior Maximeyes?

Oh, and Cate: I don't know when I'm going to make it for the Bare Minerals makeover at this rate!
  • I am laughing, Judy. I have the same horrible lighting in the schools where I work so it's not just you! And yes, I am the one who bought Benetint lip & cheek stain and raved about it. I like its natural look on my lips and cheeks.

I use the other two Benefit products to cover redness around my nose from Rosacea. This is probably the first time I've felt like I get complete coverage without looking like I'm wearing pancake makeup.
  • ^I've done that... and nearly scared myself shitless...

I actually hide all my make up purchases from my hubby.. my new blush? it hasn't left my bag because he's been home..

i just bought a new bag that's soo cute.. it's not really make up, but it's still a super cute bag.. and hilarious too!!

Basically there's a little Caucasian girl saying "WOW! You speak English so well!" to an Asian girl (Little Angry Asian Girl), and the LAAG replies, "I was born here you dumbass!"

=P all my friends love it because it's soooo true and has applied to all of us.. i
