Nope, I don't mind, Fitness Brain.
To laser my face, neck, arms, and decollete (chest area), it will be $1024 per visit. He thinks I will need two or three treatments.
I think fees differ by where you live. I'm in the Chicagoland area.
Karen, How long between treatments and how long before you'll see the final results? I hope it doesn't hurt too much and that there's not too much recovery time.
I've been thinking about sme non-invasive procedures
but I guess I have to wait until I fnisih my PhD and get a real job
hopefully at the end of this year
PurpleRules: I actually don't know how long you have to wait before you can come back for treatment number two. For me, it'll be more about when my checkbook has a cushion back in it to do it again! I definitely plan to complete all necessary appointments by this summer, though. As for when you see results, you see them as soon as any redness fades.
I've actually had this guy use a laser on me once before but for a different purpose. About five years ago, I got hit by an icicle when I walked out my back door. It broke a capillary on my cheekbone. He used one of his lasers to remove the ugly redness from blood pooling in that spot. He said that since I was paying for fifteen minutes with the laser (the minimum charge), and it was such a small spot, he'd laser the redness around my nose and forehead area, as well. I was only slightly red when he was done. It felt like rubberbands snapping on my skin. The constant blasts of cold air was actually more bothersome to me.
I don't know that he'll use the same laser for this procedure, though. He has ten and that's a good thing. In his previous treatment of me, he realized the laser he started off with was too powerful for my skin. He immediately stopped, had his assistant pick up my things, and we all walked into a different room so he could use a gentler laser instead.
That's one of the reasons I am returning to him. He knows my history, he has many laser options, AND he does the procedure himself, rather than having one of his assistants do it.
They did warn me that I might not want to make plans for the next day, due to possible redness. We'll see! (The appointment is next Thursday. )
There's been a lot of discussion about packaging and just how far we're willing to go to get that last little bit out of the tube and there are also quite a few of us who use Urban Decay's Primer Potion so I thought I'd post this:
dblacknessmac.blogspot.com/2008/01/udpp-has-been-holdin-out.html
I don't know if I should be happy to learn that there's so much more product in the tube than I thought or if I should be madder than Hell that I can't get at it without having to saw the tube open.
I'm just finishing up a tube (or so I thought) or UDPP and also using the Trish McEvoy primer. I like both products so I think once I've used up the Urban Decay I'll switch to the Trish McEvoy. I really don't think I should need a hacksaw to get at the product.
Good luck Karen... and oh my.. an icicle falling on you? You know what that means, it's time to move to warmer climates. =D
I've been a very good girl and haven't purchased anything new. I might get NARS new Alhambra eyeshadow duo. I just saw it today and it's absolutely gorgeous. Very soft peach and champagne colors. Unfortunately my local Nordstrom haven't received their testers, so Holly (the NARS counter manager) couldn't play it on me. She'll call me when it comes in so I can play.. =D
Oh yea.. I think it's probably a really bad problem when not only 1 make up artist at the local Nordstrom recognizes you, but 2. Yes, 2. Holly from NARS knows me by name, which is pretty bad. Oshone from MAC recognizes me for my hair, and she always says hi when she sees me. That's not good, right? Do I spend that much???
Gloria: I'm going to say yes, but that is fine! When we go out for sushi the server always knows what we want to drink and she knows I always want at least a Spicy Salmon Hand Roll. We go there at least twice a week, but we have been so busy lately we haven't gone at all
Purple, I saw all that stuff about the UDPP, too. However, when I bought mine a couple of months ago, the MA said that UD had changed the packaging so that the tube inside is straight and there is nothing in the "bubble," if you know what I mean. I wonder if all the hype about the UDPP was the old bottle? Or is it the new bottle, too? Do you know?
I don't know if you can tell the difference between the new tubes and the old tubes but I assume the one she cuts up is the old one.( I wonder if you're actually getting less product in the new tube. I assume that there was no correlating drop in price. ) I'm going to cut up the tube I've got and see how much more I can get out of it. I've had it for a while so I assume it's the old tube. Maybe when you're done with your tube, you can cut it up and we can compare how much waste product there is since you've got one of the new tubes.
I wish I had a really accurate scale. I'd love to know if you can get the advertised amount of product out using the "correct" method of application.
Thanks to Karen's recommendation and encouragement I have been experimenting with new foundations since my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer was OK but not GREAT and I need more coverage around my nose for my Rosacea.
So far I have tried Neutrogena's Healthy Skin Enhancer Tinted Moisturizer...wrong color...returned. Next was Revlon's newfangled Custom Creations...wrong color and heavy feeling.
Then I REMEMBERED that I prefer oil-free formulations because otherwise my face feels greasy...so went back and am trying Revlon ColorStay Makeup with Softflex for Combination/Oily Skin which seems to be working at the moment. It does give good coverage without being heavy. Seems to counteract the redness around my nose but I am still tweaking my application routine.
I am also in need of a concealer. I use Benefit's Playsticks and like it except that it rubs off during the day. Karen has suggested Benefit's You're Bluffing. However since I was making numerous trips to the drugstore I decided to try Neutrogena's Healthy Skin Enhancer Skin Smoothing Correcting Yellow. OK for spots but not for large areas of redness. Will try to get to Sephora to experiment with the Benefit product.
Whew...this experimentation takes some effort but I'm almost there!
NARS makes a great oil-free foundation.. it's very matte, and gives great coverage without making you look like your wearing a mask..
the doctor I used to work for was fooled into thinking I had great skin cuz of my foundation.. crazy huh?
the only complaint i've heard about for that oil-free foundation is that it could be hard to blend because it's soo matte.. but u can always add a little tiny bit of moisturizer to make it a bit easier to blend.. or use a wet sponge.. u can also add a little shimmery foundation into it for a luminescent glow..
i personally just use my fingers to apply it in the morning..
oh wait, there's another complaint.. the bottle does NOT come with a pump.. i couldn't find a pump online either, and everytime i go to the mall, i forget to ask my NARS MUA about that..
Purple, I was thinking the exact same thing about the UDPP when I saw the info about the bottle and realized what the MA was talking about when she said they changed the bottle. It probably is less product for the same amount of money.
Mine seems to be lasting quite a while, but then again, I don't use the brush. I wipe the brush on my finger and then apply it that way. I think I use less that way than I would with the brush. But I will definitely be cutting up the tube when I'm done!
I've been a loyal BB reader for a year or so, but I've only just joined! I've enjoyed reading your comments and figured I'd introduce myself and let you know a little bit about me and my recent purchases!
Over the past six or seven months, I've been having a lot of breakout problems - I think it's hormone related and there's very little I can do about it, since some medical conditions prevent me from using hormone-based birth control or anything that could really work. So, I've been experimenting with a couple of products. I bought DDF's Blemish Foaming Cleanser Salicylic Acid 1% face wash, since the lady at Sephora told it me it was effective but less harsh than Proactiv (which worked for me for about a month before making my face drier than Death Valley!). I've been washing my face first with the DDF, and then usually following up with either Dermatologica Ultracalming cleanser or Aveeno Positively Radiant cleanser, because my skin needs something to calm it down. Then a few days ago, I got a moisturizer from Skyn Iceland, called The Antidote -Quenching Daily Lotion. They say it is a "lighweight lotion designed as a hydrating tonic for chronically stressed skin. It goes on with a cooling burst to calm and soothe, and with daily use will help fortify skin and protect it from the ravages of stress. It helps decongest, detoxify and stabalize skin, returning it to its natural fresh, youthful, and healthy state." Granted, this remains to be seen, but I really do like it so far! It feels cool going on (may be due to menthone glycerin acetal), which might be just a trick to make it seems like its "really working," but my skin definitely looks and feels better, so I'll keep using it. I also purchased Bare Escentuals in Fair, since my other foundations seemed to be making the breakouts worse. I may switch back to my Prescriptives liquid foundation if I can get the breakouts under control, but for now I think the Minerals are my best bet.
Any thoughts, suggestions, comments? I welcome any and all input, thanks!
I got to Sephora last weekend and was able to get the Benefit You're Bluffing concealer and am pleased with it. Much better than the Neutrogena product I had tried previously. However overall I would have to say my Benefit Playstick concealer is the most effective concealer I have used.
Nars at Nordstrom got their testers for the Shanghai Lily collection just a few days ago, so Holly, my favorite make up artist (sooo talented, but moving to Hawaii.. sad for me but great for her and everyone in Hawaii) invited me in to get my make up done.
First she moisturized my face with their Balancing Moisture Lotion mixed in with their Brightening Serum. Then she mixed the Brightening Serum with their oil-free foundation in Santa Fe (my color), and applied it all over nose and cheeks. Then she applied the foundation alone on my forehead (to avoid a shining forehead), and around my nose where it's red due to allergies. She topped it off with a light dusting of pressed powder on my nose.
Then she worked on my cheeks. She mixed 2 different matte bronzers and applied it lightly on my temples, underneath my cheek bones, and below my jaws. She then applied Sin on my cheek bones, then applied Luster on the apples of my cheek. She finished it all by highlighting right underneath my brow bones and the very very top of my cheek bones with Albatross. She took time to blend everything together so my face didn't look all streaky. The end result? VERY gorgeous and dynamic.
Afterwards she went to work on my eyes using the Alahambra duo. First she applied the pink color all over as a base, then applied the gold/champagne color close to my lash lines for a contrast. Then she mixed both colors in Bohemian Gold to apply in my crease to create a contour. Then she applied Abyssinia (also new from the SL collection) right underneath my brow bones. Then she blend it to create a beautiful and polished look. To line my eyes, she dipped a wet flat brush into Night Clubbing (black/brown with gold shimmers), and just dotted my top line with it, and smudged it slightly on my bottom lashes. She topped it all off with a healthy coating (or 3) of their mascara in Black Orchid.
Then what I call Holly's masterpiece. She custom blended a lip color to complete my whole look, and oh my god, it was beautiful. I wish it was an actual color in gloss form so I can just buy it. She mixed Chica Boom (a lip lacquer), (I think) Boogie Nights, and Greek Holiday (from the new collection) to create the pink berry color that made my lips look poutier than Angelina Jolie's lips! The color just POPPED, and made my lips look smooth and sexy and everything you'd ever want lips to look like.
Afterwards my hubby took me out to eat, but unfortunately he didn't appreciate my make up as much. I didn't get to take pix of myself in good lighting since I went straight to the restaurant from Nordstrom. I'll post pix up on my blog later, and will let you guys know when it's up.
Oh.. so what did I purchase?
Alahambra eyeshadow duo, Sin blush, and the Balancing Moisture Lotion (which goes under the skincare thread but oh well). I did get a wonderful freebie gift too. =D
Oh I am soo jealous, the only time I got my make-up done professionally was for my wedding!!
I always thought Nars was a litlle too expensive, is it really worth it?
Ok I had a rough night with a bottle of wine and woke up looking and feeling like death...thats a BAD thing so I went to the market to get a few things for dinner and decided I would head to the mall. I went to the Benefit counter just to get You Rebel tinted moisturizer and started looking around and the MA and I started talking and before I knew it I was sitting in the chair having a little make-over. It was not nearly as extravagent as Gloria's, but it was nice.
She used of course You Rebel and mixed it with Firmology their skin firming serum and applied it all over my face. Then she used High Beam which is a shimmer to give you the 'dewy' look on my cheek bones. She showed me how to actually use the Benetint on my cheeks and then used their new face powder Throbb, a dash of mascara and benetint on the lips followed by California Kissin' brightening lip shine and then I didn't look like I drank an entire bottle of wine the night before!
I ended up with You Rebel and California Kissin'. I have to say I really really LIKE the lip shine. It's blue and shimmery, it doesn't go on blue and it's minty! LOVE it!
FB: When it comes to make up, I don't know how to control myself from buying them. The only way I can stop myself from buying anything is to avoid it all together. I had a hard time walking away with only 3 products yesterday. I really really wanted to buy everything. Luckily the make up artist isn't pushy like a lot of others I've met, and she just recommended the eyeshadows and the blush.
As for whether or not NARS make up is worth its cost, I'll post up my pix soon (not sure where my camera is), and you can decide.
And cate's score sounds yummyyy.. I LOVE MINT!
Okie.. PICTURE WHORE TIME!
=D
oh PS: f you LOVE my make up, call Holly at the Nordstrom at Westside Pavillion. Her last day is Feb 27th, so call her at (310) 470-6155. Ask for the NARS counter. She is WONDERFUL!
She'll soon be in Hawaii for a full year. When she gets there I'll ask for her contact info for any of you in Hawaii or will be going to Hawaii.
I really like Nars, although all I have of theirs so far are 2 multiples and 1 blush. It is quite expensive. I've heard the shadows are amazing, but they're so pricey! If I start buying them, I know I won't be able to stop!
The other brand I am slowly falling in love with is LORAC. I recently bought their Lotsa collection and liked all the pieces. I am considering another of their packaged collections now because they are such a good deal. There is something about LORAC's products that seem so luxurious to me. I especially like their new croc palette.
Stila also has a few great packages right now, which are super deals. Of course, it's really only a deal if you like all the stuff it comes with, but $120 worth of products for $40 sounds pretty cool to me!
Well, I have to admit the only eyeshadow I actually bought is Shiseido, an it is wonderful, all the other ones I have came with the "free gift with purchase" ( I know It is sort of pathetic)
Somehow I can control myself nore with make-up, skincare is my downfall, I think I am using 3 different lotions, just for my body........
I did buy the fiberwig mascara and loooove it, I can wear it al day, teach a class at the gym at the end, and no smudge, but a litlle warm water takes it away, I've meaning to try benefit but I am avoiding sephora for a bit, I am saving for a pilates course I want to take at the end of the month. And for the salon, last time there was a miscomunication issue and I ended up blonde!!! when i wanted jessica alba's honey/caramel, so I have to fix that.
Bad Gal Lash smeared and smudged all over my eyes by the time I walked into work. Perhaps they have a waterproof version, but I really didn't like how it smudged. I seriously had panda eyes because it smudged on top of my lids, AND on the bottom of my eyes.
I went to an Ulta for the first time yesterday. I bought five bottles of nail polish. I rationalized this by telling myself that it's the only store I've seen China Glaze and CND nail polish in and I don't get many chances to shop there. To be completely honest, I would've bought more if they had a better selection of colors. I also bought some new makeup brushes because they carry Japonesque (sp?) brushes, which are hard to find and I'm not thrilled with the brushes I got a while ago at Sephora since two of them are starting to fall apart.
I went to Ulta on Friday and got a small bottle of Clinique's Happy perfume. I have been wanting to try it so I did. I do like it! though I know it isn't a very adventursome scent. With my purchase i got a faux silvertone charm bracelet...with an emphasis on the "tone"...not quite to my taste but what the heck!
I just picked up a Sally Hansen nail polish called Wine Not? It is a red wine colored polish with a hint of gold shimmer. It's very very pretty. I know the dark colors are in this year, but Ijust couldn't bring myself to buy the dark dark black. Hopefully I can do my nails in my down time today.
I picked up the wild violet eye quad from the Laura Mercier Seduction collection because I just dont' have enough purple eye shadow. (I already have the shy violet eye quad.) I also got a new lipstick called, um, violet. I also scheduled a makeover with a Laura Mercier artist next Saturday so they can show me what to do with all this stuff.
Where do you guys schedule your makeovers?
In a beauty counter? I've been always afraid to do so, and end up buying thinsg that are pushed to me
By the way, Purple is my favorite color too
I'm having mine at Blue Mercury. They're doing a series of promotions and have makeup artists coming in every weekend for the brands they sell. Laura Mercier is March 8, They've got someone coming in from NARS in April; I may schedule a makeover with them as well since there's no charge and no obligation to buy, although I'll probably buy stuff anyway. Sometimes, there's a charge but that usually gets credited to the cost of any products you buy. Sometimes they'll have a visiting artist working at the counter who'll give you a makeover if you and they have the time (I've had this done at the Chanel counter) and sometimes you can schedule a time with the SA who works there regularly. If there's a particular brand you like, ask about it. I think Sephora will do it also, which is handy if you want to try multiple brands. It helps to be on a first name basis with the SAs. They'll let you know of any promotions that are coming or will spend more time with you if you're interested in trying out a bunch of new products. I'm friendly with the SA at Chanel and the manager at Blue Mercury. They keep me up to date on when the limited edition stuff is coming out, which is helpful with Chanel since stuff tends to sell out fast.
Thanks!! maybe I'll try to visit sephora more often and be very friendly!! beauty counters at department stores are intimidating to me
So far the only SA I am on a first name basis is the one at Lululemon, they are having a private sale with reception thursday and I got an invitation, I am soo exited!!! I am a sucker for cute fitness gear. I live in it, so at least i can justify the price by frequent use. Same with skincare products.
Make-up on the other hand, I do not wear often, with the exception of bare escentuals and the fiberwig mascara (thanks taiwanesegrl). However I would love to get a make-over Maybe for a special occasion. I'll give it a try next weekend.
yay for fiberwig! did you get to have a make over yet FB? let us know the results..
I wanted to make guacamole, but I was out of tomato, so I stopped by the grocery store that was next to a CVS.
L'oreal is having a Buy 1 Get 1 50% off on their face and eye products, and a Buy 1 Get 1 FREE on their lip products. Since I'm trying to be somewhat of a MUA (well.. I'm dictating the looks, and hiring a steadier hand to do the actual work), I got a foundation from their True Match line. I'm using my sister as a model, so I have a good idea what her skin color is, so I'm hoping it'll work out. I tried a little bit on my wrist, and it is very liquidy (which I like) and very blendable (even more so than my beloved NARS!)..
I also got their True Match powder for me in Natural Buff, and I like it. I am SOO surprised by the quality and by the packaging. It has a mirror on the bottom side, along with a decent sponge. It slides on very smoothly, covers my pores well, mattifies my face, but is not too powdery. I still manage to have that youthful glow that I like.
So yea, I spent about $15 on both products, the foundation and the powder, which is great! The ONLY thing I don't like is the packaging of the foundation. It's in a glass bottle with out a pump, and unlike the foundation I got from NARS (which also does not have a pump), I can't ask the SA for one.
I also bought Covergirl's Lashblast mascara. I just applied about 20 coats on my lashes, and it looks great. Good formula, good color, and the fat wand with the short bristles work really well.
ooooh TG, those are some of my fav products! True Match is my favorite drugstore foundation and I am LOVING Lashblast. It's great! Lately I've been putting it on and then putting a coat of Badgal Blue over it for a bit more pop.
well, I did get a hair make-over
and I loove my color, however It took soo long that I couldn't get a haircut
So I am going to get a haircut and blowdry and then maybe I'll stop at sephora and ask for some smoky eyes, since the only thing I really do is my eyes, I wanted to try some tarte eyeshadows, they have a litlle kit I think is adorable
Then I will have to go out!!!
I need to stay away from the mall! Last week I bought Elizabeth Arden's Intervene Foundation and concealer. I then went to the Laura Mercier counter and bought the cream eye duo Daydream and brightening powder. Today I went to the Chanel counter and purchased a lipstick, Frivole. I paid way too much for it! Then to the MAC counter where I bought two of their paint pots. Unfortunately, they were out of both the colors I wanted, so they are on order. On my way home, I stopped at Target and bought Boots Illuminating Lotion. I wasn't even safe going to Costco. They had Lacome's Definicels mascara. I need to give my debit card a rest :(
I hit up the MAC counter a few weeks back and got:
Light Eye Primer (Thought the gold shimmery was a bit much at times)
Fluidline Eyeliner in Dipdown (a nice brown)
Small angled brush for the liner
Brush cleaner! (I am most satisfied with the cleaner)
I also hit up Benefit which is right next to MAC and picked up
Eye Bright to brighten tired eyes...which I seem to have a lot lately :(
**I went to the mall to get a new cell phone...mine is crappy....and the sales guy told me to wait a month for a killer discount so I took my phone money and went to Macy*s instead...bad cate
**pas: LOVE badgal blue! Think it'll be my next purchase!
Please don't hate me for this but I've decided that I really don't like MAC makeup. Does this mean I have to go live in that cave on the edge of town?
I had my Laura Mercier makeover last weekend. I didn't try any of the mineral makeup. Instead I asked for a good daytime look in colors I would not normally pick for myself. So instead of my usual palette of plums, purples and wines, she used sherizade (shimmering olive green), topaz (pink bronze taupe) and whiskey (neutral beige brown.) She used the baked earth stick gloss, which is a warm rich brown red and a little bit of the clear lip plumper. She also told me that I should be using a lighter shade of the tinted moisturizer. I think I picked out the shade I'm currently using during the summer so I guess it's not suprising that my skin is a little lighter now.
As we all know from their omnipresent advertising, LM's whole shtick is "the flawless face" and I have to say that mine was flawless by the time she finished. She used about 3 times as much of the tinted moisturizer as I would. She wanted to use a heavier foundation but I vetoed that, which may account for the heavier application of the tinted moisturizer. I noticed that all of the artists (there were three) were pushing for the heavier foundation but not having much luck. Then she futzed and fiddled with the concealer for a good, long time; more time than I've ever spent applying foundation and concealer. When she was done, my skin looked flawless and natural. So it can be done but I'm not sure I'm willing to spend that much time applying foundation.
In the end, I bought the three eyeshadows, the lipstick and the gloss, which I like more than any other plumper I've tried. Everything else I've tried was too irritating. I also bought the lighter tinted moisturizer. I'll switch back to the older one in the summer or maybe mix the two. It's a nice, neutral look for me but I don't think it's as flattering as the colors I normally wear. Rosy pinks, wines, plums and purples really brighten up my complexion and make my green eyes pop. So I like all my new stuff and I've worn it a couple of times this week but my shy violet and wild violet palettes are in no danger of being neglected.
I've got a new, favorite blush too. I picked up the Neutrogena Healthy Skin blends blush in Pure. The color is perfect, it goes on nicely and gives me color but is still sheer and light. This is the best color blush I've ever seen on me. I got the MoistureShine tinted lip balm also. The Healthy Volume mascara has become my favorite mascara too.
Sorry about the very long post and yes, I'm broke until the end of the month.
^That sounds like a great haul. I'm going to the makeover at bluemercury in April, and hopefully I'll have some money saved up. They have this turquois color that caught my eye.
Interesting, PR.
Also, can you be more specific as to what was too irritating? Those are the products I need to stay WAY clear of due to my hyper-sensitive skin.
I think most of the lip plumpers work by irritating your lips. I thought the Wet-n-Wild lip plumper was particularly irritating. It's the cinnamon-y ones that I don't like. I actually liked the little bit of tingle that you get with the LM gloss so I bought it. I didn't realize just how expensive it was until I got home since I was buying so many other things at the same time. I probably would've skipped it had I realized that it was $30, as opposed to $20 for the regular gloss, which is still mighty expensive. I don't know how good a job it does of plumping either. I haven't used enough plumpers to say whether it's actually effective.
If it makes you feel any better, I did the same thing with a Chanel lipstick. I was sick when I saw I spent $30.00 on it, and it doesn't even plump the lips!
Anne, I want to shop with you so that I can get the vicarious thrill of shopping at all those counters. How fun!
And PR, is it only ME but if it takes that much stuff to create "the flawless face", I guess we all need makeup artists. I like LM but I have gone back to Revlon and am happy enough.
My big purchaes this week were Revlon Color Stay Foundation and Revlon Age-Defying Foundation...both oil free because I now mix my foundation with my Neutrogena Suncreen instead of layering.
Lip plumpers...the only one I have tried is Sally Hansen Lip Inflation and it is VERY tingly and nicely glossy but I can't really say that it plumps my lips.
Judy, she only used the tinted moisturizer (a lot of it, far more than I normally use) and the concealer, both of which I already have, but it took FOREVER. She probably spent 10 minutes fussing with those just two products.
I like the plumper and don't feel as bas about spending the $30, although I'll try and find a cheaper alternative when I've used this tube up. I may even do a side-by-side comparision today and see how much it plumps. It definitely makes my lips shiny but not gloppy or sparkly.
I bought a red Chanticaille lipstick when I picked up my pants at Neiman's on Thursday. Has anyone seen the Bluefly ad with the woman going through airport security with no clothes on? I love her makeup. I've never been a huge fan of red lipstick on me or anyone else, but I think her makeup looks great. When I got my makeover, the LM artist showed me how get a nicely defined mouth and I really like the look so I took the time and tried about 30 reds until I found one that looks good on me. I played for a while yesterday and could actually reproduce the look. Unfortunately, it's very high maintenance and requires constant touching up so I'll save it for a special occassion. I can still wear the lipstick for a more natural look if I dab it on over a balm and skip the lip pencil.
PR, I tried red lipstick awhile back and even though I got the color right it did seem to require special expertise to master...
Your experience with the LM makeover reminded me of this thought I had recently. Have you ever noticed that WHENEVER you see a makeup artist working they are dabbing and blending and correcting? This tells me that this is WHY they get results most of us can't achieve at home unless we have lots of time to devote to this and/or have all kinds of different shades of foundation, blush, etc.
I did notice that my LM tinted moisturizer talks about "layering" for more coverage but that seemed to me to defeat the purpose of buying tinted moisturizer instead of foundation. but I could be wrong. I am the kind of person who wants a "flawless face" with a simple regimen which is I suppose kind of unrealistic.
I had to run into Everett yesterday, and made the mistake of stopping by Macy's. Big mistake! Wouldn't you know Lancome was having a buy with a buy. Buy anything, and for $28.50 you got a duffel bag, a make up bag, a compact with four shadows and a blush, jars of Absolute Premium and Absolute Night, and two lipsticks. I walk out with that and two eye shadows in Off the Rack and Exhibition. (I looked at the colors on the Lancome site. They do not look anything like the real product.)
I looked at the L.U.C.I. eye shadow duo. The Photonic shadow is awesome, but I think it is a little to showy for my a age. It was still tempting, but $45.00! The pan of Photonic is really small too.
When I got home, Mac's paint pot in Layin' Low was waiting for me. I'm still waiting for Perky.
I had a HUGE shopping day today at Target...wow! I spent a whopping $5.63. I got NYC Lippin' Large lip plumper and NYC Liquid Lip Shine. I threw out the packages so I have no idea what the colors are, but they are kind of dark mauve. Very Pretty. The plumper has cinnamon in it...I guess it does it's job...plus it doesn't make my lips feel like they are going to fall off...thats good
Anne: I REALLY want to go shopping with you too! I imagine it would be lots of fun!
Camano Island, WA. It's about 1 1/2 hrs drive north of Seattle, about halfway between Seattle and the Canadian Border. It's a quiet little community, but I like it.
I had to do a big presentation and I wanted my nails to look nice without calling too much attention to them. I got a great recommendation from a salesperson at Ulta: Essie's Anniversary Gala. It looks very pink and shimmery in the bottle but it only gives your nails a beautiful hint of color and shimmer. I absolutely love it! While I brought it with for a professional manicure, I can tell it's going to be a really easy polish for me to apply myself - very forgiving if you're less than perfect in your application technique.
