I'm trying to find a new product to start using containing an aha, bha or glycolic acid for exfoliation on my face and those annoying bumps on the back of my arms. I don't really want to spend hours comparing all the choices in the drugstore so...What do you use? How does it work for you, how often do you use it, and all that jazz? Also please include your skin type!
I have used Alpha Hydrox Oil Free Formula Gel. It is a 10% formula with a ph of 4. If I understand correctly you should only use this at night, and then only on nights when not using a retinol product, due to the fact that it will make your skin more sun sensitive and prone to burn. As always, use a sunscreen with a high spf (at least 15 or higher) when using AHA's.
I have oily sensitive skin.
It works well but I do like my OTC retinol products so I only use it maybe twice a week.
For body skin I have read that a body lotion containing lactic acid will help with the keratosis pilaris you are describing on your arms, but I have never used one of those lotions myself.
Neostrata is a good brand for all AHA, retinol and other good stuff. i personally use paula's choice 2% BHA gel and buying the neostrata 15% AHA lotion on saturday :) have been visiting my parents and found it in my mum's cabinet and fell in love, buying one for myself now
