Help me find this product
  • Ok, instead of finding Waldo, I'm trying to find a specific product. I am looking for a primer that has zinc oxide sunscreen, oil free, has oil control properties, and doesn't cause breakouts. Does anyone know of such a wonderful product and can speak from experience with it? I have extremely oily skin and I am looking for a primer to put under my foundation. I want the primer to have a good sunscreen so I don't have to have an additional step of applying sunscreen.

    Thanks for your help!

  • No help here. I use a regular sunscreen - Neutrogena Dry Touch spf 55 and then use a primer that is definitely off label....I use Monistat Soothing Care Chafing Relief Powder Gel. It works beautifully for me. I have oily sensitvie skin.

I hope you find your two in one product!!
  • Becca Cosmetics makes a ZO primer that is sold on dermstore.  I tried it and felt it was heavy for me, but understand that I have that reaction to all primers.  Dermstore has a very liberal return policy.  The other thing to bear in mind is that Becca's is fragranced with a sweet marshmallow type smell that some people object to.  I failed to return mine within the return period, and I still have it, so if you want to try it, PM me and I might be able to send it to you for free!
  • Another product I can recommend for oily skin is Elta MD UV Clear ZO sunscreen (also sold on dermstore).  It's not billed as a primer, but it might be worth a try to see if it has a similar effect (like primers, I believe it's in a silicone base, but lighter than primers are).  It has niacinamide in it which is supposed to be good for acne-prone skin, and I love the texture and color of it (not too whitening compared to other mineral sunscreens).
