Vaseline

    Hi All,
    I was just recently told that vaseline is the BEST facial moisturizer and that it actually helps clear up acne as it does not allow the "wound" to be exposed to other elements.

    Granted it is sticky and you can not really wear it in the morning as a facial moisturizer, but what are your thoughts as a night moisturizer and as a acne/wound fighter?

    You'd have to wash your pillowcase every morning if you put vaseline on your face at night. You'd probably have to wash your hair as well. I think you'd do just as well with a mineral oil based moisturizer. They're almost as effective at creating a barrier and they're not nearly as messy. I use Nivea creme at night. I doubt any moisturizer of that sort (an occlusive, which works by creating a barrier that prevents moisture from escaping) is going to clear up acne. You'd need an additional product to treat the  acne.

    I use it on my eyes before I go to bed at night. It helps get rid of my bags and get rid of my face looking tired.
