I read this University of Reading's study findings today and had to share. The scientists found parabens in 99% of the breast cancer tumor samples studied and agree that the chemical indeed needs to be examined very closely in regards to cancer.
it was in freaking dailymail, for US users it might not be evident what I mean by it, but here in UK it doesn't carry any weight. you'll be a fool to believe anything they print.
Hey ladies. The article has a sensational tone to it, I guess that is because its the Daily Mail. But when you read further the scientists did not claim to draw any conclusions, they are just stating what was found. They themselves say the study was not adequate enough to deduct any cause and effect. They do do say however that since parabens were found present in 99% of the 160 samples of cancer patient's tumors and that it warrants further studies.
SarahF.... the links you provided are an older study than the one I've posted (which was just released), but also give the same impression to me. The small studies have too many holes to definitively say anything beyond the facts. What that presence of the parabens in tumors means is going to have to be investigated further. I agree!
I stand corrected--it is a new study. I notice, though, that unless I am misreading, there is no control group--some of the biggest criticisms of the previous study is that no healthy tissue comparison group was used, and parabens were found in both the breast cancer group and the blank control samples. Why do a second study of the same type, with no control?
