Do I need a heat protectant product?

    I recently have started started styling my hair with  a blow dryer and a bowl-shaped diffuser, on the medium setting. (It only has medium and high.) I hold the diffuser right against my scalp, and it is comfortable. Beforehand, I use leave-in conditioner and a styling cream.


    When I have straightened  my hair with a blow dryer, on high of course, I used a heat protectant. Do I need to use a heat protecting product with the diffuser's lower heat?


    Also, are there any new heat protection products that have the right ingredients?

    Heat protectants are always a good idea as long you can find one that doesn't weigh your hair down. One of the best we've seen is the Tresemme Heat Tamer spray.
