In Need of advice about a recommended Exfoliating Product

  • Hi everyone my name is Micha and I'm new to Beauty Brains,
so bare with me if I make a few mistakes.

I had a close friend recently tell me about an Exfoliating Glove
that seems to work really well. However, I'm looking for more advice as
to whether or not it works as well as they say.

Apart from what we usually look for in skin care products (chemical free skin
care) this product lists a multitude of other benefits that don't seem to be
related to the skin.... or are they? More research needs to be done. I have
spoken a friendly staff member and she told me, with conviction, that this
product does everything listed but only with prolonged use. Then the cynic in
me called back & spoke to a male staff member this guy had me sold. He even
uses it and claims it works so well that it is the very reason why he now works
    for the company.

Apparently this product has been around for thousands of years & it is very
cheap to purchase and that has me wondering; why don't we all use it? & why
don't we all know about it? Well I suppose we live in a society that has
somewhat lured us away from nature itself.

The immediate gratification however is what I'm more interested in. They
promise that it gives smooth skin instantly after the first use and it's
chemical free. I must admit, my friends skin looks & feels amazing and ever
since she has been using this exfoliating glove, she has been telling us all
about it. Is this my calling? Is this the product we have all been waiting for?
Maybe, but everyone's skin is different and what works for my friend may not
work for me. I will need more advice from the pro's before I go ahead.

Can someone look into this for me and give some feedback? I'm hoping there is
an outsider that has used this product that can shed some light on this. The
product information can be found here: http://www.desoie.com.au

    Aniticpating any replies,

    Micha

  • Umm...not a Brain. This just looks like over-priced hype to me. I wouldn't buy it. But that may be just me.

I have a suggestion if you want something to use to exfoliate your skin. I use it myself and it works beautifully. You probably have the ingredients in your kitchen. Use extra virgin oil oil mixed into brown sugar to make a scrub. I mix the two together and scrub my skin in the shower. The scrub exfoliates the skin and leaves you moisturized as well. (I shower off with body wash after using it and even after the body wash my skin feels soft and smooth.)

But $40 for this? No way I would spend the money on it. Not when I have a homemade body scrub that works wonders.  :)
  • Lindygirl1960,

Thank you for your feedback. Over priced hype is exactly what I first thought but the fact that my friends use it almost eleviated that.

I like your idea about the olive oil and sugar mix. I may try it. How many parts oil and how many parts sugar should the mix be? Worth a try but my only concern is that scrubbing my skin with the sugar element could finely scratch my skin.

I've tried other crystal based scrubs and although they exfoliate well they have also done more damage than good. I'm not sure if sugar dissovles in oil but if it does then great, I will try it. Heading into my kitchen later tonight to give it a go.

Thanks again for your view point.

    Much Love
    Micha
  • I use just enough extra virgin olive oil to stir into the brown sugar with my fingers. I have no idea how to explain how much. Just enough to make it a consistency to scrub with.

I don't scrub really hard with this mixture. The sugar does NOT dissolve in the oil. With my sensitive skin it would hurt if I scrubbed hard. I even use it on my face though. As long as I am careful I get great results.

Let me know if it works for you.  :)
  • This glove looks interesting, I'll see if I can find out any details.
