How do I do the least damaging everyday hairstyle?
  • I can not have my hair let out because it is about shoulder leght and get stuck in things all the time (i am really clumsy)

I have heared that a bun is the best updo to not overdamge my hair.
But the problem is that I do not know how to do it in a not dameging way.
I have heared that boby pins is bad for your hair.
I have also heared that elatics are not good to have at the ends of the hair.
But is it possible to do a bun without elatics or boby pins?
  • Our daughter uses spin pins made by Goody. They hold really well. Hopefully this link will work so you have pictures for reference.

    Hope that helps!
  • Thank you!
  • Spin pins are great, like lindygirl1960 said, but they might not work for some hairstyles that are too short or are layered. You would just have to try them to find out if they work for you.

Something I use on my shoulder length hair that is not damaging is a big "jaw clip." I pull my hair back into a ponytail, twist it half a turn, make a sort-of bun, and put that clip over it.

Elastics are bad for my hair. Last summer I had a ponytail every day, and placed the elastic in the same part of my hair. After a few months, I saw that the part of my hair that was held by the elastic was rough and frizzy.

  • Some of the jaw clips have no-slip grips on the inside surface area too. They do work really well. (I use those on a daily basis to get my hair pulled up and out of the way when cleaning my face.)  :)
  • I ave learned to do a naturalistic bun now. I use a pencil to keep it in place.
