When I saw this...I thought it was right up the BB's alley. Classes for kids on what is in cosmetics. How come I never had chemistry classes that were this FUN?

Judy--I flunked Chemisty my junior year of HS, retook it in my senior year passed with a C and then put it off in college as long as I possibly could and when I did finally take it I got an A...not sure how it happened...PLUS the little girl I was nannying for at the time ended up with Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease and was inconsolable right before a HUGE exam and though I can't remember what it was on I know it is what I ALWAYS had trouble with...somehow I managed to ace that exam.
I felt bad for her though she had these awful sores all inside her mouth and down her throat...she was just 2. I spent a lot of that day crying with her because there was nothing I could do to sooth her except give her soda (bad nanny!) but it seemed to calm her throat down...BUT she never took her pacifier after that! So I guess we got something good out of that terrible sickness!
This class is so near-and-dear to any Beauty Brainiacs heart! Great link, Judy!
I was also relieved to learn that whale by-products are no longer used in perfume. That always bothered me. And how about the mother who "recently instituted an organic-only rule at home"? I'd like to hear this mom explain why.
Good catch on this article, Judy. The author, Natasha Singer, is a fan of the blog. She interviewed us last year for an article. In fact, she recently asked for a review copy of our book. So keep your eyes on tne NY Times for more Beauty Brains info!
RB, excellent contact at the NYT...we will be looking for THE BOOK mention in the NYT. Do you also know people Vogue? A little blurb from them is always good publicity! I'm not crazy about InnStyle but lots of folks read it...I only read it when I am at the stylist.
I'm sure your publisher or your literary agent has figured all this out.
