Skin peeling to get rid of stretch marks
  • Hi, i'm here again to consult the concerned members of this forum. okay so lately i have been reading some online articles regarding the non-surgical skin peeling to reduce or remove stretch marks. i read, for example, diamond peeling can help in renewing your skin by peeling its top layer thus giving you refined skin texture. i read that it will lose fine lines and wrinkles, as well as getting rid of stretch marks. is there a truth to that? if i have a good  recommendation from people here i might try it to end my stretch marks problem for a long time.
  • Our understanding is that over the counter peels will not effect stretch marks because they only reach the epidermis, while stretch marks are created by collagen deposition in the deeper layer called the dermis.

Microabrasion or laser resurfacing from a dermatologist can help with stretch marks because these techniques go deeper into the skin.

The key is: you have to go deep to get those scars out and only a doctor can do that.
  • yes that's what i'm talking about.. peeling with the help of a specialist. thank goodness there is still hope to get rid of my stretchmarks... although i know it will take time to see fulfilling results. thank you right brain for your reply. :)
  • i've been using 15% glycolic acid on my stretch marks and they improved very little...
  • @allye. : so did you use any other method to get rid of your stretch marks?
  • bio oil, that helped fade them and make them less visible. nothing will get rid of them unfortunately, maybe some laser treatments and surgery.
  • i'd say i saw better results from bio oil than from aha
  • I honestly think that nothing really helps to totally get rid of stretch marks, but I do believe in using a clinical stretch mark cream as soon as you get them while they can still be healed and lightened. All those other procedures are very expensive and offer no guarantees if your not happy with the results. Try something affordable first :)
  • What about cellulaze doesnt that lighten the skin read about it at futurederm why not get a treatment specifically for whats bothering you?
