Hi, I'm new to this forum. Love this website for giving facts over marketing b******t.
I am interested in moving on to using a serum now as part of my skincare routine. However, I am reluctant to part with lots of money for a product which may have a cheaper and just as good alternative somewhere. Do people have experience of Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair? Is it worth the money? Has anyone discovered a cheaper alternative which is JUST as good?
Well, I have not used this product personally, but have a site for you to use. It is my go to for getting a lot of different opinions on products. makeupalley.com - you have to make an account to view the reviews but totally worth the wide variety of reviews.
I havent tried any Estee Lauder serum, seems theres two in the advanced Night Repair line, which one are you interested in? and just out of curiosity, why did you choose this brand and line in particular?, in both cases they are basically claiming to reduce visible signs of aging so other well formulated and less expensive serums can do that as well.
Paula Begoun made a review of two serums from this line at her Beautypedia page, she recommends a serum from her own line instead, (I have not used it either and I dont know how objective she can be in this point) but theres reviews of many other serums from different brands (and the most important, the ingredients lists).
I think Dae8 and AleV both have a good idea. The sites they mention are good resources. You can find out what others who are similar to you in skin type and age think of a product on makeupalley.com. And the beautypedia site is also a good source of info.
I've used the Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum for many years. My skin is dry and the serum seems to help moisturize my skin under my moisturizer. Definitely check out Beautypedia.com for an evaluation of the serum based on ingredients. If you go to an Estee Lauder counter, you can probably get a sample. If you purchase it and don't like it, you can return it without any problems. I've found the Paula's Choice serums to have a lot of silicones. This makes my skin feel uncomfortable, but it may work for you. Samples are very inexpensive. Another serum I like (also expensive) is Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Supplement. It can take awhile to find the right products.
too young to use that seru, but my mum has and she didn't think it was anything special, she enjoys Naruko serums now, which are 1/3 or less of the Night repair price.
