lancome visionnaire?
  • Is there any science behind the effectiveness claims Lancome is making for their proprietary LR2412 (in the Visionnaire product) for wrinkles, pores and evenness?  Any theoretical reason to expect this would be an effective agent?

  • @Sarah: A very interesting question! I won't be able to look at it until early April but I'll see what I can find out.
  • No pressure, but if you ever get a chance to look into this one, I'd be psyched.
  • LR2412 appears to be Sodium Tetrahydrojasmonate.  In one of the patents they claim that it works by enhancing desquamation (much in the way AHAs & retinol works).

Looking at the ingredietn list, lots of polymers to form a film on the surface and probably a pearlescent pigment (Titanium Dioxide & Mica) to give the appearance of an immediate effect.  Glycerin, Dipropylene Glycol and Sodium Hyaluronate are humectants to help bind moisture in the skin.

Ingredients: Water, Cyclohexasiloxane, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat., C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Sodium Tetrahydrojasmonate, Dipropylene Glycol, Polysilicone-11, Dimethicone, Bis-PEG/PPG-16/16 PEG/PPG-16/16 Dimethicone, Polymethyl Methacrylate, Ammonium Polyacryldimethyltauramide/Ammonium Polyacryloyldimethyl Taurate, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Mica (CI 77019), Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Phenoxyethanol, Adenosine, Magnesium Aluminum Silicate, Dimethiconol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Disodium EDTA, Tetrahydrojasmonic Acid, Citronellol, Inulin Lauryl Carbamate, Fragrance.

  • Better late than never, look for your answer on the blog tomorrow!
  • Thanks!  Sorry to be a noodge...
