Hello, I recently read on Dr. Hauschka's website that you should skip using a night cream/balm on your skin. It suggested just cleansing it then using a toner. What is your opinion on this?
When my skin was younger, I used no moisturizer whatsoever and my skin was perfectly supple and healthy with its own natural oils. Every time I tried a moisturizer (even one supposedly for oily skin), I would break out with pimples, so I just gave up and even some of the people at cosmetics counters who wanted to sell me a moisturizer had to concede that my skin looked good without one.
Now in my 40's and using drying treatments for rosacea, I need to moisturize well. So it depends on how your skin is doing. I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all recommendation.
thanks for the comments, I personally use a night cream esp. in the winter because my skin is dry/sensitive and needs the added 'good stuff' in the cream. I have also read that oily skin usually does not need cream but I find that I have decided to base my routine on what seems to work the best.
It really depends on you skin type. But if your like most women and have day creams,or makeupbelieve me the best situation for practically all skintypes is a naked face at night when going to sleep!!!! Sleep is the best beauty secret and keeping your window a little bit open is the best-you breathe fresh air,the skin circulates and relaxes, heals, cell turnover not to mention you burn calories! in the morning there is NO excuse to soap your face-just cold fresh water a few splashes and then your day creams...
