How long does it take for coconut oil to pentrate the hair shaft?

    I have heard anything from a few minutes to several hours.
    Does anyone have a more reliable answer?

    I leave it for an hour covered with a shower cap (and the shower cap covered with a towel). I have had days when I simply didn't have an hour and sort of sped up the process by using hot air on low speed from a hair dryer, but that is rare.

    Maybe the Brains will chime in.
