A Woman Charged With Illegal Butt Injections Kept Injecting After Being Caught
  • Whalesca Castillo was arrested in January 2011 for operating an illegal cosmetic clinic out of herhome in which she performed butt lifts by using liquid silicone injections. A customer got sick from the injections and went to the local authorities prompting an investigation by the feds.

Last September, Castillo plead guilty to running an underground clinic and using illegal injections in exchange for a reduced sentence of 18 months. However, in a court filing this month, prosecuting attorney Sarah Lai said there was evidence that Castillo continued to perform the injections two months after being arrested and pleading guilty. Lai says that Castillo doesn't deserve a reduced sentence and wants to see her serve at least 24 months behind bars.

Lai accuses Castillo of moving her illegal clinic to a different locale and having the liquid silicone shipped from the Dominican Republic to an alternate address. Castillo's bail was revoked after the discovery of this evidence, the New York Daily News reported.

According to prosecutors, Castillo made nearly $100,000 in a little over a year from the butt injections, for which she charged $1,500.

A sentencing hearing is scheduled for June 20.
