Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out
  • not sure about the rest of you, but i adore vintage beauty advertisements and collect images of such. i also have an irreverent sense of humor and will lampoon almost anything. the following 'toon was conceived on on Christmas eve while making those last minute purchases with hubster and hearing kenny g on the radio. i think our stress got the best of this, because here's the result

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

michael bolton admiring kenny g your hair smells terrific's 'skullet' on a communal bad hair day

  • Faux - you are friggin' hilarious! I love these old time ads too. I've found a couple that the Right Brain has used in posts. If you have any more good ones let me know - maybe we can use them as a post in the blog?

What does everyone else think? Would you like to see fun stuff like this posted on the blog or should we keep it on the DL in the forum?
  • we need lots -- everywhere and i'm happy to share ;-)

    faux
  • Love it! Keep it coming!
  • warning: may be unsavory to some, er, ah, most folks. honestly, i can't believe this. what will they think of next.

    vulva -- the perfume
  • Faux: This is one of the most amazing product ideas I've ever heard of. I'm tempted to think it's a hoax! If you don't mind I'd LOVE to blog about this soon!
Hey, that's one of the advantages of the Forum - you get to see some of cool things before they make their way into the formal blog!

Keep 'em coming Faux! (Um, maybe I should rephrase that, all things considered!)
  • fauxmccoy: OMG! Where and how in the world did you find this? Incredible!

We've all heard about Napoleon writing letters to Josephine, telling her not to wash for two weeks before he returned home because he found "her fragrance de naturel" arousing! Why didn't we think of the lucrative aspects of marketing this concept when we first heard that story ?...lol

Right and Left Brain: I say go for it on the formal blog! Think of all the fun Right Brain will have in finding "the picture" that will go with this one....and then all the comments that follow! Oh, I can't wait!
  • We couldn't wait - Sarah already blogged about this http://thebeautybrains.com/2007/08/12/scent-of-a-woman-literally/

We tried to be tasteful about the picture. But believe us, it wasn't easy!
  • I want to cry from laughing!!! All that site needed was a dog ramming its nose up her crotch!

Oh lordie...imagine wearing that to work and a coworker asks, "Oo, you smell great! What's the name of that perfume?"

    "Vulva!"
  • In the movie, after the guy sniffs the "precious" fluid, as he is trying to look sexy and sophisticated, doesn't he look a little uncomfortable, as if his pants are getting a little tight? I can't imagine anyone needing any extra stimulation in his situation, but, who knows, maybe it works!

I am a little worried about how funny this whole thing is to me, but my husband has been out of town for a month, so I'm thinking the lonliness is making me a little giddy.
  • mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
  • I remember the TV ads with Catherine Deneuve when I was a kid. She's lying on her side, propped up on an elbow and wearing a black dress. I decided I wanted to look "just like her" when I grew up and asked for Chanel No5 for my birthday (because we all know that's all it takes to look like Catherine Deneuve, right?). My mother actually gave me a bottle but I couldn't wear it to school. Thanks for the wonderful memory.
  • I had forgotten how beautiful she was! Not sure why her chin is glued to the bottle top, though.
  • I came across someone's wacky use of Photoshop and wanted to share it with everyone but I couldn't quite figure where it belonged in our discussions. Then I remembered this weird thread so....

    Celebrity sex changes!

Why is Orlando Bloom always attractive?!...lol
  • whoa.. HAHAHAHAHHA

if u had NOT mentioned Orlando Bloom, I would not have recognized him!! He is such a pretty girl! =P
  • This is a fun thread! There is a magazine out People Life and Style I believe and there is a page with about 12 pictures of celebrities...they were morphed with other celebrities that they look like. Julia Roberts meshed with Jessica Biel and Queen Elizabeth meshed with Elton John, Tom Cruise meshed with Katie Holmes and Orlando Bloom morphed with Johnny Depp....together they make one freakin beautiful pirate! It's pretty funny!
  • I almost feel guilty putting up this image on a Sunday, but it gave me a good laugh and thought this was the perfect place to post it in.

  • Is that a dog's tushy (it's the nanny in me...sorry)? Wow...
  • Yep, that's exactly what it is........and what a place to see Jesus!....LOL

If anyone is offended, I will delete this but there are just so many Jesus and Mary sightings in the news (I'm sure you've seen them, too: On a piece of toast, on the wall of a rain-stained overpass, etc.) this one just struck me as hilarious.

Hey! At least I refrained from posting it on Christmas Day or Easter!
  • wow i couldn't tell it was a dog's tushy til cate mentioned it..

i thought it was some woman's hair..
  • I almost forgot about these until my son reminded me about the first one, "Noah in Six Years". All three clips are very compelling viewing. The first one is one of the most watched clips on youtube. It's the longest but definitely worth the time. I hope you find them as fascinating as I do.
FYI: The song used as the background music for it is "Everyday" by Carly Commando.

    Noah in Six Years Time

A Girl in Three Years Time

A Girl in 100 Days Time
  • I was kind of creeped out by these. I don't know why. I couldn't even finish watching the first one and the music was so sad. It just seems like a lonely project full of sadness. The facial expressions were the same and I began to think that he must have been sad for 6 years. I don't know.
  • Oh, I'm sorry they had that effect on you, Cate! I think "Noah' was just trying to maintain the same facial expression for all those days, which is definitely not an easy thing to do, so that's why he picked to pose with such a flat affect. The music contributes to the mood of it but it might have also been picked for its title, "Everyday".

I think the last girl is kind of cute! I like to watch the way her hair and makeup changes in a few frames in the time-lapsed shots.

Overall, I just find the idea of them fascinating.
  • It's ok Karen. I did think the last girl was really cute and I loved her hair. Perhaps I will re-watch it today. Yesterday was a strange day for me.

If I did this project I'd document my mood at the end of the day and I wouldn't even consider doing it for 6 years and I'd set it to "Shiney Happy People" haha

Check this out ladies!  Amazingly done!  Can you get them all?  I had a hard time!

  • From Daytipper
    Cure a yeast infection naturally

It sounds gross, but garlic is a natural anti-fungal. Insertion of a clove of garlic into the vagina daily (remove daily as well) will cure a yeast infection in as little as a day.
That is the grossiest (sp?) tip I have ever ever heard!!!!
  • Oh my.  I'll keep that in mind TG.  Can you even imagine?
