  • Coconut oil, not milk. <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002RU3GH0/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&tag=thebeautybrai-20&linkCode=as2&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B002RU3GH0">Parachute 100% Pure Coconut Oil </a><img src="http://www.assoc-amazon.com/e/ir?t=thebeautybrai-20&l=as2&o=1&a=B002RU3GH0" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> is reasonably priced and you can buy it through our link to help support the blog.

  • As to how to use coconut oil. I know of two ways.

    1. Melt the coconut oil between the palms of your hands and rub it through dry hair. Cover your hair with a shower cap, cover the shower cap with a towel and do something productive for an hour or so. Rub liquid shampoo through dry hair, step into the shower, add water and shampoo as usual. Use a rinse out conditioner after to make sure your hair is easy to comb through.

    or

    2. Shampoo your hair and put lots and lots of coconut oil through wet hair. Cover with a shower cap, cover the shower cap with a towel. Go do something productive for an hour or so. Mix about an ounce and a half of lemon juice and an ounce and a half of rinse out conditioner (I use a 3 oz travel size bottle). Shake to mix. Get into the shower and use this mixture all through your hair. Leave it on while you shower. Then rinse. (I actually put more of my rinse out conditioner in after I rinse so I can comb through my wavy/curly hair in the shower and get rid of any tangles.)

Then, either way, style as usual.

    Hope that helps.
