stability of skin lotion
  • Dear, when we prepare lotion/cream or moisturizers
with emulsion wax, stearic acid, cetyl alcohol and LLP we get very good
cream but after a few hour it becomes foam. We are to beat it again to
make it proper cream. What ingreadient be used to prevent foam in the
cream? Moreover we are not able to able to make lotion in true form.
kindly suggest the recipe to have a good lotion with the abovesaid
    ingredients.

  • What is LLP? and what is the INCI of your emulsifying wax?  I am not sure what you mean by "beat" how did you actually make the cream - eg did you heat both phases to 75c, for how long, did you pour one phase into the other and use a stick blender (rather than a whisk) for 5 mins? I need to know the precise method. Also, what other ingredients did you include in your lotion eg water, glycerin, preservative, lipids??

  • INCI of emulsifying wax is Emulsifying Wax NF. LLP is Light Liquified Petroleum.both phases are heated around 75 to 80 degree. we use stearic acid, cetyl alcohol and LLP alongwith water. we uses blender to mix the contents for around 5mins. We just not adding other ingredient as we want to make stable pure cream/emulsion  base initially after that we will go for other components to add in. but after blending it becomes very good thick cream but after a few hours it becomes foam. we tried glycerin also but no use. though in thick creams problem is a little bit less but in lotions and moisturizers it is very big problems. Kindly guide us on this matter.
