lost in frizz
  • I have dry, frizzy naturally curly hair i have tried shampoo and conditioner for curly hair but it does not seem to do anything. i have recently read  articals online saying that people with curly hair should not use a towel to dry their hair insted to let it air dry and other saying to use a towel. or things like blow dry or dont blow dry your hair. then i seen a lot of articles about using olive oil in your hair and alot of other Homemade Hair Remedies. If i use olive oil what kind do i have to use. do i have to make my own homemade shampoo and conditioner or can i just add the olive oil to them? does the shampoo and conditioner have to be a certin kind or can i just use any. how do i get rid of the fizz but keep the curl with out having to cut my hair because if i cut my hair i will just be a poof ball and i rather have it long. i dont want to have to take a lot of time mixing up ingredients like a mad scientist.
  • I have found a lot of very helpful information on this site - www.naturallycurly.com. You can figure out what type your curls are and then look for the products others with your hair type have had success with using. It at least gives you a starting point and narrows down the list of possibles. There are many products out there which work well for wavy to curly hair. Some are expensive, but many are not.

Many things help curly hair. Washing it only once a week if it is really dry, as you indicate yours is. Using a moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, doing deep conditioning once a week, blotting dry with a microfiber towel (less frizz), using a diffuser and low heat to dry (or being ones of the lucky ones who can air dry!) Never EVER brushing. Only using a comb with wide spaced teeth or your fingers to detangle.

The Brains posted this article with regards to using oil for deep conditioning:

    Hope that helps a little!
