I use to have really nice thick black straight smooth hair. but as I am getting older my have has become lighter color with waves. Recently I beginning to notice the a slight blonde and tighter curls. I do not process my hair and I tried to even go back to the original brands I use when I was younger. I am only 23. What can I do?
Our daughter's hair texture was stick straight before she went through puberty. It became curly. For several years thereafter she would dry it straight and, later, flat ironed to get it straight. She now has this lovely headful of botticelli curls. It took some doing to learn to properly take care of it but the benefits she has reaped by not trying to straighten her hair by blow drying and flat ironing have been astounding. Her hair looks fabulous.
According to my hairdresser hair texture can change over the course of time. It happens.
The lighter color you are noticing could be sun damage. It does show up more in black hair. The much lighter hair? It could already be your hair beginning to gray. At what age did your parents go gray? That is sometimes an indicator as to when you will begin to gray. If it is beginning to gray don't feel like you are the only one. A friend of mine had hair that was totally white by the time she was 20!
I only use my flat iron maybe twice out of the year for special occasions. Both my parents hair is still very dark and my father just began having a few grays and he is 55. But what Lindygirl1960 said about her daughter makes sense. I have a hormone imbalance according to my doctor. Oh well untill its settled, I geuss my hair will do what ever it wish's.
