Sugar Scrubs bad for the skin?!
  • I have recently heard that sugar scrubs are bad for the facial skin because they can cause tears in the skin. Is this true?!  I love my D.I.Y sugar scrub as it is my go to remedy to calm down a breakout and leave my skin so wonderfully smooth and radiant. I'm very gentle with the application as I don't actually scrub but lightly move my hand in small and gentle circles allowing the sugar to do the work of exfoliation. BTW. I use brown sugar as i've been told its more creamy and gentle than white sugar and I couple it with some honey and oils to make it emollient so that it is less abrasive. It would be so sad to find out that this is actually more harmful than good considering the beautiful benefits I get from this scrub/mask as it refines my pores and the AHA from the sugar is left on as a mask. :[
