After watching this video ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRxvaMVLCrg&feature=player_embedded#! ) and reading this site for so long, I couldn't help but wonder if women are trying to get back to this kind of beauty regimen after all of the "advances" in beauty. I was pleasantly surprised at how many tips are so true today. What tips and suggestions in this video are still the best method? What should we be thanking science that we no longer do that is in the video (product advancement aside)? Why is it that we think the beauty routine in those days was so much more exhaustive than today?
I haven't watched the entire video but here are my initial thoughts.
I think stressing the importance of beauty sleep is right on. Especially regarding dark under eye circles.
Their reference to the use of deodorants is interesting since this was before the invention of the modern antiperspirant. (Remember deodorants just stop you from smelling antiperspirants stop you from sweating and smelling.)
The video mentions the importance of shampooing every day. Arguably this is one piece of advice that has changed. With the advent of dry shampoos there are ways to keep your hair reasonably refreshed without having to shampoo every day.
Finally, it's hard to argue with the idea of bathing and brushing teeth as an important part of your beauty routine.
