Reading the paper "does 2+2 not equal 4?" (about wearing SPF 20 and another 20: it will help ensure to get to 20), I have been wondering what is the protection if the SPF are not the same?? If I wear a moisturizer SPF 30 and then a foundation SPF 15, does it make: - 15 because it's the last applied -30 because it's the first applied or because it's the higher SPF -between 15 and 30 it's a mix - 45 because it's like an addition (I don't think it works like this but it's an option) - > 30 because it increases the SPF That's all solutions I have think about, tell me what do you think
Not a Brain here Eugenie, but my thought is that the best thing you can do for your skin is to wear a spf 30 or higher broad spectrum sunscreen under your makeup. If you want to apply makeup with an spf over that then, by all means, do so. But in order to get the spf listed on the label of the makeup you would have to pile on a LOT of makeup.
My problem has been how to reapply the sunscreen short of removing the makeup and starting over. The solution I have come up with is powder sunscreen. I bought mine from amazon. It is called go! screen. I have oily, sensitive skin and use powder makeup. To reapply over my makeup I blot and then swirl the go! screen on. It looks white for about a minute and then goes clear. But each and every morning I apply an spf 30 sunscreen to my face and neck before applying ANY makeup. (I am using Blue Lizard for faces. It is zinc oxide based and a physical sunscreen. My dermatologist approves!)
yes I think that physical sunscreen is the better solution but mosty so it's better to apply under make up because it looks white so I will try your product go! screen to reapply, seems good! Thank you! So do you think your powder or your sunscreen is more protective?
I wouldn't use the go! screen as my main sunscreen. I use it for when I need to reapply because I will be outside for a relatively short time later in the day. If I will be out all day I use very little makeup and just reapply the sunscreen.
