I've read a couple of product reviews on epinions and other boards where the reviewers say the product stays on great while exercising or working out. I'm not sure I understand why they would wear makeup during exercise. It does seem like a good test, though. If it can stand up to sweat running in rivulets down your face, then I guess it can stand up to just about anything.
Do you wear makeup while working out? Doesn't it run during a vigorous workout, or come off when you're toweling the sweat off? I'm a notorious "sleeve wiper", you know, where you wipe your forehead on your upper sleeve/shoulder area? I would have makeup smeared all over my workout clothes if I wore anything while working out. And I'm pretty sure I've read that working out while wearing makeup can clog your pores. Thoughts?
If my skin is looking really bad, sometimes I'll put some concealer on trouble spots before heading to the gym. I just can't stand to have my bad skin showing. It doesn't run, but I also don't wipe my face. I usually blot the sweat with a towel. I never wear any other makeup, though, that would be weird to me.
I can see the concealer. I guess I just never thought about it because 1) the sleeve wiping I mentioned above, and 2) my face, neck and upper chest get soooooo red after a cardio workout. If I wore anything on my face that matches my normal skin tone, it would look ridiculous on my post workout tomato colored skin.
I remember being teased in college about being the only person who showers and puts on makeup before going to the gym. These days, I don't worry about it since I don't belong to a gym. I use weights at home and go for a walk (4 miles in an hour) 4 or 5 times a week. It's a brisk pace so I work up a sweat year round and I would love to find a sunscreen that is really, truly sweatproof.
If I'm going to the gym after work, I don't bother removing all my make up first. They come off when I wipe my face anyways. Trick is to wear waterproof mascara and oil-free foundation.
If I go before work, or didn't bother wearing make up to work, I might dab on some gloss just for fun.
