Neutrogina Light Sesame Oil vs. (e.g.) Baby Oil
  • I love Neutrogina Light Sesame Oil after a shower.  Relative to generic baby oil, it's expensive, at $8.50 (on sale at drugstoreperiodcom) for 8.5 oz vs. $3.99 (sale, same place) for generic baby oil 20 oz.  I think the baby oil does about the same thing, sort of "sealing in" moisture from the shower.  Neutrogina is lighter and smells better (but that doesn't last long really).  Is there any real benefit in terms of skin for the sesame oil that makes Neutrogina worth it?  Does the sesame oil do the same thing to skin as coconut/olive/other nut oil may do to hair (i.e. actually make a real vs. cosmetic improvement?)
  • Baby oil is really just mineral oil which is proven to be one of the most effective occlusive agents. That means it's better at locking in moisture than any natural oil.
  • Thanks Right Brain!  So, cheaper and effective!  Score!
