Ok, I have to admit it, I love to do karaoke. It's just so fun to get up in front of an audience and listen to their cheers while belting out my rendition of Joan Jett's, I Love Rock n Roll. As Sarah always tells me, I'm not much of a singer but I have lots of fun!
And it turns out this scientific study suggests that most people are better singers than they think.
So, how about you? Do you karaoke?
No because I'm fairly sure I'm as bad as I think. Other sources (friends and family) tend to agree so I confine myself to encouraging others to make an idiot of express themselves by singing in public.
I do the private room karaoke, and yes, I do love it. However, I actually think I sing better than I actually do. I love singing songs at the top of my voice, much to the chagrin of everyone around me. (All the karaoke places I've ever been to have private rooms)
My uncle has a karaoke machine at his house, complete with hundreds of songs to choose from. Last time we had a family get together, my brother-in-law almost went crazy from listening to me sing. He's an opera singer, and he cannot stand bad singing, so yep, I drive him nuts!
Oh well..
Uh...no...the only event I have ever been at where it was available as an activity was some lame company lunch in our caf. Not the best setting for that kind of thing I would guess.
I can rock out The Beatles Yesterday...and that is about it. I believe I am a horrible singer, but my husband who is an amazing singr always says I am better than I think. He did an amazing rendition of Abracadabra and Hungry Like the Wolf....oh and my personal favorite In Da Club. It is really fun when I am feeling comfortable with the crowd
I would have to be so stupid, stinking drunk that I wouldn't be able to stand up on my own before I'd have enough nerve to sing in front of a bunch of strangers. SInging in front of friends would be even harder. Seriously, I'd rather do my own dental work.
I LOVE to sing! I sing in the car, the shower, while I'm putzing around the house, etc.. It can drive the people I live with pretty crazy. Oddly enough, I've never done any karaoke but I secretly keep hoping someone will buy me a karoke machine.
FWIW, I actually have a pretty good voice (I did a lot in high school including taking private voice lessons) so that's why I'm not too shy about singing. My only fear is that once I get old and senile, I'll sing EVERYWHERE I go!...LOL
Yes I do, actually I am going Karaoke tonight, I have only done it once in the past, when I was in my first year at Uni, belting out Like a Virgin with my best friend, and making a total fool out of myself.( Obviously very very drunk, ha haha)
12 years on and people still remember ( just to tell you what spectacle it must have been).
I usually sing songs in French, which my boyfriend doesn't like very much ( well Edith Piaf was a great singer!) as my voice is not what we could call exceptional.
